Hoarding BoG reservations?

OP apparently wants a universal condemnation of people who book more then one ADR. otherwise the thread would not start with a post about how it is rude and state OP is not trying to start a debate. I assume that means we are all suppose to just agree with you? I figure if people want to overpay to eat there more then once good for them.

Nor do I really care if you book and cancel. If Disney has problems they will come up with a solution.

I had the same thought. Wonder how the OP feels now that she sees that nobody so far agrees with her. Maybe we're all rude hoarders in her eyes.

I would eat at Le Cellier twice just for the wagyu ribs because I like them so much. Don't like the price so I only go once. So long as those who book the res use it it is fair game IMO. Booking it up and not showing is rude but now it costs them something so it should be rare now

As for no adults at character meals... Well I would like no children under 10 at signature restaurants but neither is going to happen :)

If you intend to use them all, I have no problem with someone making multiple ADRs for the same place. Now if someone makes 4 ADRs because they don't know which day they will be in the Magic Kingdom and just wants to hold them, then I think that is wrong.

I totally agree with everyone else that says Disney is to blame for the hoarding.

We have to make reservations at 180 days out but won't know our exact park days until FP are made or special events are announced.

Disney makes us wait until sometimes less than 60 days before a trip to know Thanksgiving meals, Candlelight Processional special guests, Premium events, etc...

Two thumbs up!

If people want to eat at a restaurant more than once, and are able to do so, it doesn't bother me. What used to bother me were the people who made multiple reservations for the same night just because they wanted options, but the credit card guarantee seems to have taken care of that.

I agree. I have zero problem with any of these behaviors. If someone grabs the reservation they can do what they want with it and as many others as they can get. We have several bog reservations and a couple other hard to get reservations for March. We will release the ones we don't want after we have our schedule nailed down.

If people want to go more than once to BOG, why would that be a problem?

Hoarding reservations, though, that seems like a harsh statement. Sounds like someone making ADR's and not planning to cancel or attend them. This would not be cool but hopefully people don't actually do this.

Thanks to those (most of you) who offered civil responses and opinions =)

:confused3 I thought all the responses were perfectly civil. ESP since we have all seen some of these threads get pretty heated

IMHO, if you want to go to MK every day and eat at bog, knock yourself out :thumbsup2

I could eat at O'hanas everyday and be a happy camper..

I admit it, I had reservations for BOG for 3 days in a row. I was waiting to see what day I could get 7DMT FP+. Once I had that secured. I kept the ADR for the same day or 7DMT and let all the rest of my ADRs go. It was 60 days out.

I've seen some people say they had BOG for over 5 nights on a 14 night stay, plus the FP+. I've seen another person say they had the mine train for 6 stays. Others have multiple M&G with A&E (that one stumps me).

Anyway... yeah, I think it is a little excessive once you get past twice.

Way too many other places on my list to eat, BOG I got for one night finally and I'm done looking... Once is enough :)

Last trip I had two ADRs for BOG. We had such a magical time the first night that I canceled our second reservation (against my family's wishes). Why? Because life has taught me that when something is that great the first time, leave well enough alone! Chances are pretty high that the second time would have killed the dream... and I wanted to leave the memory of BOG right where it was! Now, we are super excited to dine there again with our entire family almost two years later.

Interestingly, I went to our resort concierge to cancel BOG for two days later and the CM gave me a hard time about it. She just didn't know why we would do it and wasn't sure Disney would let us out of it. Whatever! I think we all know there were people waiting in the wings to snag that ADR! I was glad I knew the cancellation policy!

I used to think I had it all together when it came to planning my days in the park as soon as park hours were available, then booking my ADRs accordingly at 180 days. I have since learned that booking one TS for the meal we would most likely want to try on a given day is child's play! Honestly it never even occurred to me to book multiples. I was on the cancellations thread a lot for our recent trip and I quickly found out that is common practice.

At first it seemed a little greedy to me, and I still doubt I would be likely to do it, but it is a valid point that if you want a certain FP, you are going to have to be flexible at 60 days. Also, if I ever get annoyed seeing someone cancel 6 reservations for the same day, I look at it as a chance for someone doing a last minute trip to snag it. Works out okay with the cancellation policy.

The easiest way I can sum up how I feel ... life isn't fair. Everyone isn't going to have the exact experience they want on a Disney vacation or any other random day of the year, either.

If someone snags several "hot" ADRs, and another person doesn't get what they wanted ... that's just the way it worked out that time.

We have four SDMR FP+, more than one for A&E, TSMM, etc. for our upcoming trip. We have several ADRs for character meals that we're not going to use, but I will cancel what I don't need ahead of cut-off time. But I'm holding on to them until I can better know what our week/plans/weather looks like. I don't feel the least bit greedy. I'm planning my trip so that my family can have the best possible experience.
And when I cancel those extra ADRs, someone will benefit from them.
