Hey-
We are back from MLK weekend, and I'll write a trip report as soon as we settle in at work and home, but first a quick note to tell you all that they now have a HO scale WDW RAILROAD!!! WOOHOOO!!! AND there is also a HO Scale train station!!!! OK I'm a grown man, but I flipped out when I saw them. I don't know if any of you are working on a wdw in your attic or basement, but if you are I bet this is the thing that has kept you up at night worrying about. No more trying to figure out how to bash a kit or if you can find some train on ebay that you could alter to pass, or how bad would it really look if you used that giant train set they have that is like three times bigger than the monorail. Oh, no, not anymore - this is a godsend. It isn't here from UPS yet to tell you more details, but they exist and I couldn't be happier.

I saw that one of the days that I was there. The price really isn't that bad. I think for the train set it was either 60 or 70 with included the locomotive and 3 or 4 cars and track too. I think the station was some where around $30.00.

OHNO I will have to buy this! Husband is a major HO scale nut, and I am a Disney nut. Glad I get that CM discount, too....

Thanks for the info, I will be down in 2 weeks, and will look for this item!

Could someone verify this. The HO scale train I saw I think was like $350.00. Is this right $60 or $70 for a loco and 3 or 4 cars? If so, I can't wait to get there and buy mine. WOW!!!!

I think that the train was $60 - loco, coal car, two passenger cars, track. I'm sort of assuming that the ho scale track I already have will work with it - I can't think of why it wouldn't. That is really not a bad price at all. I think that the station was $35. I think it will be fun because it said it had 100-something parts inside. They haven't came yet, so I can't tell you much about them - I think that with shipping both were like $105.

I just checked and an entrepreneur has already gotten them up on ebay - remember, the price at wdw is $60 for the train, $35 for the station, and no tax if you have them shipped for about $10 for the pair, so don't get gouged -

Again, for a ho scale station like that, not a bad price at all. I wonder if they will have more ho scale main street buildings. I bought a couple of the old sears disney town square sets from e-bay (these were released back in the 80s), but they are really more like O, well, almost G I guess - it is about a 4' square. They're pretty big. But I think they will be OK.

We have the battery powered train Disney sells, but they have never released any additional pieces, (unlike the monorail set). I'll have to check this out in May when we're down.

Since this doesn't really fall into the category of rumor or news, I'm moving it to the Community Board.

I saw this train at the Disney World Outlet in the Dolphin Mall in Miami about a week ago. If I remember correctly, it was regular price, $60...

Oh yeah! I saw those last week. They've also got more attractions out.

I'm not building a WDW but that train sounds neat.

Am I the only person who doesn't know what a HO scale is? Do you weigh ho's with it? :jester:

this is what HO Scale means : a scale of 3.5 millimeters to one foot used especially for model toys (as automobiles or trains)

I set up our two monorails and all the buildings before Christmas. When we got to WDW DW bought the train set (yes it was $60).
DW was back at WDW last weekend and came home with the Main Street Station. I haven't set it up yet, but right now I have the monorail with all the buildings and the train circling the MK section of my little bit of Lake Buena Vista. It is in, and all over the living room. I'm leaving it all set up for another week or so, then I will put it away till next Christmas. Don't know what we'll do if they continue to add attractions:D

Dunno if I can capture the majesty in a snap, but I'll look into it.
I will be the first to tell you, it is absolutely ridiculous to have this in the living room. It consumes the living room floor. Check this out: DW SUGGESTED WE DO THIS:teeth: She even bought most of the monorail stuff as gifts for me over the past year or so. It's supposed to be part of our Christmas decorations.

My house has a (very) small sunroom in the front that I have the baby's changing table in. We put the Xmas tree, etc in there every year because there's a big window, and it's out of the way. Since DH knows how WDW obsessed I am, we have the old train, monorail & accessories. He bought all the new accessories as an Xmas present. We'll have to get the train when we go, as we'll be setting up WDW in the sunroom!I try to buy little pieces of WDW on ebay when I see something that looks good, but people go crazy bidding on that stuff. One day I'll buy all the posters, etc. PM me if you know of any auctions, etc I could get to capture the "mini" magic!

well, it was news to me when I found it, and since it was new and I hadn't seen it posted anywhere else I figured it would be news to others.

This is really cool. I only have the monorail set and Haunted Mansion sofar. I'll have to get the train set my next trip up. Do they have any new attractions playsets?

Just got the Main Street Station and Astro Orbiter set up in the living room. MSS is awesome (as far as scale goes it's nearly as big as the CR). I won't spoil the surprise, but MSS has audio.
I now have all the WDW monorail and train stuff in the living room.
I promised DW that next weekend I'd take it down till the holidays again.
