When I started looking for hotels... Ho Jo's was quite expensive but the whole pool area and castaway cove was making me want to stay there (for my daughter)...but it was out of my budget BUT today I was told the great discount my work gets and when I got quoted (its $350 cheaper then was quoted on the web!) :cool1: I can't believe it! So happy.. my daughter is going to love it!

So what are the pros and cons of this hotel? We are staying mid-January.

Don't get a loud room facing the interstate.

This a grest hotel, the beds a very comfy and with a disney view room you can see fireworks from the balcony in your room. However if you are planning on going in Jan and you are only chosing this hotel based off the themed pool then I would consider other hotels too. I was there last March and it was still too cold to go swimming in my opinion and I am from WA. They do have a nice hot tub though. This being said I love the HOJO and they have great service.

I have been staying at this hotel for 20 years (with a few other hotels when we have short stays), and I think it is one of the best. The customer service has been better than when we stayed at Holiday Inn and Ramada, which cost more. Also, you can get a park view room at this hotel.

HMMM I am hoping we can enjoy the sun abit...being from Canada (January is freezing!)...what is the temperture in January there???????

I am from Victoria, not as cold as Toronto, but last January from the 20-14th, we went, and it downpoured the entire trip, and was the same temperature as Victoria, so pretty chilly.

Tempertures are relative to what you are used to. I'd call it warm or hot days and warm nights. However at the end of January and start of February is the peak of rain for LA. Though it's a pretty dry place storms do roll through and it's hit or miss if your vacation coincides with rain.

You can see weather data in the link below.

My kids love to swim and we live in Utah - so...when we go to So. Cal. they always plan to swim. They will swim if it's barely 70 outside, they don't last long, but they will still swim! :scared1:

We've been in Dec. and March and both trips were warm enough for my kids to swim. But, we were coming from weather that was snowy and cold and miserable so 70+ seemed warm to us.

70's sound good to me, brrrrr. Had to turn the heat on today. Looking forward to some fun in the sun next week.

I love HoJo! We stayed there the first time this past March and after the stay I told my husband I never wanted to stay anywhere else. The staff was fantastic and very friendly. They happily allowed us to check in early. The rooms are nice and clean. The beds are SO comfy! It's the first hotel matress I've ever loved. I don't usually make coffee at hotels, but I will with the Keurig machine! Their little store on-site is well stocked and very convenient. You can get snacks, toiletries and darling Disney souveniers. I love the distance of the hotel from the park too. It's nice not to have to cross Harbor at the main light in the rat race of people trying to get to their hotels right across the street. You can walk down the peaceful sidewalk right next to the park and not worry about keeping pace or getting run over, then cross at the light closer to the hotel itself.

The only thing I crinkled my nose at was the washing machines. They could stand to be cleaned IMHO. Mind you, I didn't plan on doing laundry while we were there, we just had a little laundry emergency (that happens when traveling with a little one I suppose :goodvibes ) I think you'll be really pleased if you stay there!!

I am looking forward to the hotel, my daughter doesn't know about this trip. She's enjoy the park even if its abit of swimming. I  that the hotel has keurig coffee maker... I will be smiling in the morning!
