Hey everyone,

My friend has booked this hotel for our May trip. I tried to talk her into staying somewhere else, like onsite, but to no avail. I don't mind too much since all I really care about is seeing her. But can anyone tell me anything at all - good and bad about this place, and what is around it, like restaurants, etc. I will have a car so we can drive and all but just curious.

Thanks!

On our last Disney trip we stayed there the day before and the day after our stay at Pop Century. It was pretty decent. The day we got there though, we were so tired from the drive down, we passed out as soon as we got into our room. We had a room facing I-192. Pretty nice room. Fairly roomy for just the 2 of us. Bigger than Pop Century rooms. The day we left though, we had a room facing the back. It looked older and not as well taken care of. We had some shady neighbors. I would definately recommend asking for a room facing Irlo Bronson Hwy. Also, you have an IHOP in the same parking lot. For the price it is worth it. I think we paid around $37 a night. Plus, like most people, when in Orlando, we are hardly in our room. As long as its clean and safe, i'm happy. BTW, its very close to WDW, you'd pbbly enter the property by Wide World of Sports.

DD and I stayed 5 nights at HoJo Maingate East in January. The room was big, and there was a kitchenette in it. It was pretty basic, but clean and close to WDW. Our room faced the pool- we were on the 2nd floor.

I'd stay there again, especially for the price we paid (Hotwire, about $32/night). We didn't spend lots of time in the room- just slept in it at night- and for that, it was just fine. I wouldn't really recommend it for a vacation where you spent a lot of time just hanging out at the hotel, though.

We stayed there for 8 nights in 2003. We had a regular room 1st floor right next to the pool. As the above said it was good if you plan on spending most of your day out of the room. It was a regular room with a fidge. Great for someone on a budget the only reason we didn't go back is because with 2 kids we perfer a bigger place so we go with condos now.

I've stayed there every year for about the last 8 years. It's basic but well kept and close to lots of shopping (my second love to besides being in WDW). The area resturants are Boston Lobster, IHOP, Waffle House, Shoney (I love their food), Denny's and a little gas station that you could grab a sandwich or coffee or something like that. I like it at this hotel. It is one of my 3 hotel I am visiting on my 2007 trip. POP Century, Ho JO, then the Nick. Enjoy you trip.
