Ho! Ho! Ho! Away we go - A Disney Christmas - 2/15 Dec TR final thoughts and FEB TR!

NO not me! I don't know why but I dont seem to buy a great deal on Disney Vacations. Once we got our 100 Acre Wood clan of stuffies, I think our major purchases have been monorail train cars, lightsabers, DISracers, and a few Tshirts... oh and an Iguana! I think if I had a girl we would buy more stuff... weaponry, remember? It is all about the things that shoot or have blades... ;)

I need to learn your secret on that! We always seem to spend a ton of money on souvenirs!

Don't forget you are the one who got me HOOKED on that drink! I had two in October and two this past trip! VERY good! We'll glad my photo was okay! I took a few others while there on our second day...

I do remember that! :lmao: I think I love the name almost as much as I love the actual drink. Sadly, we only have one AK day planned in July, so I will have to double up then! ;)

the boys did have a great time, and yes the parade was really neat. Did you hear about the Iguanas falling out of the trees all over Orlando b/c of the cold? They go numb apparently!!!!! I would FREAK if an Iguana fell out of a tree in front of me! :lmao: Yeah I am sure some of them were wondering what was up with the temperature!! I wonder if there are things done for them... maybe they do wear mittens and earmuffs!

 Those poor lizards!!! Can you imagine??? Makes me wonder, now, how the gators are doing in those cold swamps!

The tree was very pretty -- I don't think it was that Riverside was crowded, I think it wasn't well kept. He said his room was not as clean as he would have expected... that surprised me. So too did his friend (she had her own room, I think she took a picture... They did agree the grounds were nice.

That surprises me, too. Maybe they had a less-than-stellar mousekeeper -- I have found all the Disney resorts to be very clean.

I am loving your pictures from AK!! We are only doing a 1/2 day here on our trip later this month. I was glad to hear that you got through it quickly b/c of the time of year. I was worried we would be really rushed - although with the weather the way it has been I know we won't be going anywhere near fountains or water rides! :sad2:

So you have me intrigued...what is this "Lost on Safari" drink that has you and Charleston Princess taking pictures of rooflines? :rolleyes1 I might have to track that down!! :thumbsup2

I think I am my own nemisis here... I have so many plans to do things, that I run out of time to shop! AND when I am at DTD I am often with the fam, and I just cant get lost in WOD, or MouseGears at Epcot, if I am with my family!!! They are always right there! And DH loathes me shopping at Disney, he lurks while I am shopping, saying "you REALLY don't need that," and "WHY are you getting another..." I need to have peace and quiet on my own! The resort gift shops tent to only have a few items ... I did get to do a little walking around MK on my own one evening, but I didn't get to see nearly everything I wanted to...

I do remember that! :lmao: I think I love the name almost as much as I love the actual drink. Sadly, we only have one AK day planned in July, so I will have to double up then! ;)
Not a drink I want right now, with the wind howling and the frigid blasts of cold, but you'll be able to find time in July I am sure.... hot hot, needs something for a cool down, just belly up to the Dawa bar!

 Those poor lizards!!! Can you imagine??? Makes me wonder, now, how the gators are doing in those cold swamps!
I feel badly for everything in Florida... DS4 can eat a whole qt of strawberries if I let him. The price of strawberries went from 2 for $4.00 on Monday to $4.99 each today...:sad2: Maybe the lagoons are heated to a nice 82 degrees like the pools are!!!

Can't wait to try the "Lost on Safari!" MEK, Katie and I are planning on meeting up for one at AK EMH :thumbsup2
Your parade pictures reminded me of that Samantha Brown special where she watches the parade and comments on Minnie's tub full of hot chocolate smelled like.....hot chocolate! Love the close up of Mickey too! Great shots with your new camera!!:woohoo:

Oh do! It is really good, pineapple juice and some thing else! :thumbsup2 The drinks are in Africa -- the DAWA bar. It is next to one of the eating areas... the name escapes me, I am sure CP will know!

I have to have quiet to shop as well -- can't think if people are lurking. :sad2:

YAY for Tusker House! We have an answer!!

Ugh, I mean that is why I would love to just go by myself one time... to just meander! I was able to a little this time and next trip I think I will be doing it more.

Thanks! Gonna do one update this weekend!

well frankly I don't know that it was all that warm when they decided too... it was about 5pm b/c it was after the parade and it started a little later than normally, I think by an hour...

Yep, it would have been a lot cooler at 5 p.m. We were thinking about leaving DHS about 1:30 or so for pool time, but decided to do it the next day.

He does a great job of surfing for deals. I agree. We have lucked out in a few cases, and we got a great deal for this summer, too. :thumbsup2

Yes, I can send you an email -- had you PM'd me about this before? Someone had... I'll send you that response b/c there are some great options!

Nope, not me. But I would love any advice you have. Thanks!

WE didn't get much snow this time, just two-three inches. major roads clear. But we got our 2hr delay, so that was a plus!

A 2 hour delay would be nice! I would love some snow.... we haven't been in any since we were in college. I think it snowed down here one year, but it was before we moved here. Very rare for the South Texas coast.

Have a great weekend!

Stephanie

I am enjoying all the pictures. The boys are handsome and a lot of fun, I know.

Jingle Jungle Parade is so cool with all the animals wearing their holiday garb. Jammin' Jungle is one of my favorite parades anyway, and it's especially fun with all the extras.

Your room looks very nice all decorated up. Can't wait to stay there one of these years!

Will do! Just let me find that other response!

Gee thanks! Yeah they are both a handful of fun and craziness! But I wouldn't trade them in ;)
I think that parade was really festive and fun. I like it too, but something about it in December was more enjoyable.

Thanks! I have a few more to post.

Oh, I have some catching up to do! :surfweb:

Well get started! Just kidding! Glad you are reading along.

Okay, so I am a firm believer in putting away the Christmas decorations in a timely fashion, and I have always made my deadline of the FIRST weekend after New Year's, so I am here this weekend, dutifully putting it all away...

Can I JUST say....

And MORE

Oh, and YEAH,

I Just LOVE Decorating, and thankfully it takes half the time to put it away, but it is NEVER NEVER as much fun!!! :sad1:

Oh well, later today I will post again on my December trip TR, and that, plus reading about all the other Christmas Trips, will help me ease gently back into bleak January and February...

Hmmmm.. :scratchin Well then there is Valentine's Day cookie baking... and the promise of more snow days, and then of course a CRUISE in little over a month... :beach:

OKAY okay it isn't all THAT bad....

STAY TUNED FOR ANOTHER "HAPPY DOG CHRISTMAS UPDATE" !!!! COMING SOON...

I am always sad when I have to pack up Christmas, too. :( Like you said, though, there is Valentine's Day fun, and for you, a cruise to look forward to! You'll get through it! :goodvibes

I agree it's so much more fun to take out the decorations than it is to put them away. Then there's always the one you forgot to put away. This year I found a pair of Christmas socks under my son's bed. I made the executive decision that the socks could stay in his drawer all year instead of dragging out the ladder to get to the storage in the garage to put them away.

I took all the Christmas stuff out of our living room last weekend and most of it sat in the dining room all week. I just couldn't get motivated to put it all away. Finally this morning I packed most of it up. I have to find another box because somehow it didn't all fit. :confused3

I hate putting all of the Christmas decorations away too. To ease my pain, I went to Party City and started buying some new Valentine's Day decorations. Chococate hearts definitely cure the post Xmas blues.

Can't wait for another update!

Oh, the dreaded taking down of the decorations. I hate it too.:sad1:

Looking forward to an update though!:flower3:
