Have never been to HHN and unsure of what to expect and how to plot our course for the evening. We will be there opening wknd on Saturday 9/27 and will be doing scream & scare entry to get the early jump. We are also planning to get FP for the evening. Sorry, but I have a lot of questions for the experts:
1) Whats is the smartest way to traverse the park and avoid the longest wait times and see everything?
2) I saw one post that mentioned doing the "inside houses" first. I guess that means there are "outside houses"???
3) Are the shows difficult to get into and is it realistic to expect to see them all? I am expecting it to be busy of course.
4) Are there any maps available from the last time HHN was at US. So I can get a sense of where some houses could be located or at how it was set up last time.
5) Any key strategies at the outset once we are released from scream and scare section. House vs shows etc.. I would guess this could be the most strategic point for us and I don't want to goof it.
Thanks Dan

Welcome to HHN Dan! You will love it! :thumbsup2

You have done everything you need to do to help yourself along by doing S & S and getting the EP for that night. With S & S, you won't even need to use the EP until the fourth house. Here are the answers to your questions:

1.) Since you have the EP for 9/27, you can take your time more than others and will be able to see all houses.

2.) The inside houses are the ones in the sound stages and outside houses are located in attraction queues and tents.

3.) The Bill & Ted show is the most popular show but I don't really spend time on the shows since the schedule is tough for me to make. I'm usually in line somewhere but Macraven and I did the Rocky Horror Tribute last year and really enjoyed it.

4.) I don't think I have a map from last year but will look this evening. The houses are usually in the same areas each year. They will have three sound stage houses which are the most detailed and biggest...several in the attraction queues (Jaws and Disaster! the past few years) and several in tents set up behind MIB and The Simpsons (these are not regular tents like you would think).

5.) The only thing I can tell you about strategic planning is...forget the rides until you've done everything else.

Check the HHN dates thread and post your dates...quite a few are going this year and mini-meets might happen. It's a good time to meet other DISers.

While in scream & scare from around 5pm till they release us (maybe a bit after 6pm it seems) would it be easy to eat at Finnigans or Lombardos or is everything jammed because there is nothing else to do but eat?

The restaurants close 30 minutes prior to park closing so they will close around 4:30pm. I don't know how long they will let you stay in the restaurant before sending you to the holding area but last year they had drinks in the Boneyard for those of us staying. I'm not sure where the holding areas will be this year but I would imagine you could hang out at a restaurant for a while provided you are in before they close.

if your in there for the day with a regular day pass or a annual pass and hold a ticket for HHN can you stay in like the ppl with the actual stay and scream pass in the designated areas ?

Here's my strategy:
1. Creatures!
2. Interstellar Terror
3. Body Collectors 2
4. Scary Tales 3
5. The Hallow
6. Dead Exposure
(You should have been able to do all of these without using your Express. It should also be dark now.)
7. Reflections of Fear
8. Doomsday

Now that you've done all of the houses (hopefully without using your express) you can take in the atmosFEAR, go on some rides, see the shows and catch your favorite houses again.

Last year I did all 8 houses, 2 of theme twice, saw B&T, RHPS, and the Enigma, on a Saturday, as well as the park closing at 12 midnight.

We ate at Finnegan's almost every night we went to HHN and they never made us leave the restaurant and go to the holding area. We just sat in the restaurant until HHN opened and they released us when the houses opened. It actually seemed llike we had a jump on the S&S people, maybe because of Finnegan's location (not sure where it was in relation to the S&S pen, but we always were one of the first in line for the houses that opened early). We intend to do the same thing this year.

Yes...Team members will come around and ask to see your ticket and then direct you to the holding areas. Just remember...there is no actual S & S pass...Stay & Scream just means you have a valid day ticket or AP and a valid HHN ticket for that night.
