Yes, I will do this later.@airjay75 odd request buuuut, any chance you can snap a picture of the label on the BW mattress? I have been sleeping so badly and the last time I had a good nights sleep was a few weeks ago at BWV. Now, was it the mattress, the Pepe special from LaCava de Tequilla or riding GotG 3 times in one day, I dont know. But I need to start somewhere.
A few years ago during the VGF fire sale, we got 2 gold water bottles. I'll let you know what we get as we just closed a direct VDH contract a couple of weeks ago. UPS shows something from "Ccg" in West Caldwell, NJ, as "label created", but not shipped yet. I'm not expecting anything, so if this isn't from DVC, I don't know what it is.
We added the VDH contract on what was our resale-only VGC membership, so it will be interesting to see what date they list.
It must be part of their new sales strategy: if you want another gold water bottle, you could always add another direct contract.![]()
I have seen a select few find decent exchanges. But pricing can vary and typically isnt worth it. Annual pass exchanges are a very decent deal if you need an AP.After investigating a few options in the hotel exchange portal, seems clear to me there are zero good hotel exchange options for DVC points. Certainly not for DCL cruises either. Are there any good exchange options for DVC points for anything?
I accept the answer is probably "no", and the only good option is renting points/reservations for cash and then booking/buying with cash afterwards.
Same for us when got first direct in 2021. It matched our November 2020 membership date from the initial resale. (Each additional direct certificate also has matched origin member since date). Before our direct VDH last month, we only had resale VGC and resale BRV. They put the date of our very first resale (VGC) on the certificate.
The best use of DVC points will almost always be to book DVC lodging, everything else requires paying an intermediary. Are there any good exchange options for DVC points for anything?
I have seen interval work amazingly well for some people. I havent dove into how to even begin using it but I will eventually. The best use of DVC points will almost always be to book DVC lodging, everything else requires paying an intermediary.
Interval usually isn't a good deal, but sometimes can be okay. Primarily in high-value locations, booking smaller unit sizes, on a week-for-week basis. Studios and 1BRs in Hawaii, for example. If you can catch one, a studio at the Marriotts in Manhattan, San Diego, or San Francisco could also work. Maybe some Hyatts here and there, and a few other odds and ends.
I was looking at that for future possible Hawaii vacations. I spent 350 points for 5 nights in a one bedroom at Aulani.Interval usually isn't a good deal, but sometimes can be okay. If you are on FB there is a really good group for trading into Interval for Disney.Well, I am potentially taking one for the team. I put an Interval request in for a few specific resorts on Maui and Kaui. It said I needed to pay $0 for the exchange, which I'm not really sure is accurate. I was able to set it to take a maximum of 160 points and we'll just have to wait and see if anything ever matches. I put January 2027-March 2028 and if it confirms anything, I have 24 hours to decline and get my $0 back. Of course, I might overbook myself way before anything matches and then I'll have to cancel the request.
