i have spent the last hour and half reading the disboards and i wonder what i am missing. i have been to WDW every year since 1999 and DL numerous times. and i read postings from people who have the bad experiences. i have only had one odd experience and when i looked back on it i realized i didn't ask the question i should have and the response i got was to the question i asked.

however, i read these postings and i wonder what park/resort did they go to?? i have never had a request ignored or question not answered. i have joked with CM's and they with me. i did notice on CM on Mainstreet (i think it was in the bakery) and she looked beat down. i asked her how her day was going and she said smiled weakly and said ok. i looked at her and realized she looked exhausted and asked her when she got there and she said 8 am (it was now 5) and she had a couple of more hours to go. i spoke with her for awhile and by the time i left we were both laughing and she was smiling again (this took less than 4mins). sometimes i read these boards and wonder...
we expect so much from a CM and yet, do the ones who do the loudest screaming and moaning of the demise of disney, do they ever think to ask a CM how they are doing? Yes, i realize there are those ninnies that work for Disney who do not care about their job. these people are in every company.

i don't know why i started this thread. i just got tired of reading the the moaning and groaning of the demise of disney. yes, things change, some good, some bad. yes, when things go wrong we should let the powers that be know.

the posts i like to read give you the good, the bad and the ugly. when i read a post and it is one long moan and groan with nothing positive of what they enjoyed i wonder if that person ever had a nice moment or if they wouldn't be happy unless they complain.

anyway, take this for what you want or don't. if i offended some people i am sorry.

Excellent Post!

Its sad but some people live to ***** and complain! I have been to Disney numerous times as well and its always been magical!

thanks, i just hope people will read this and see how their action/reactions will contribute to their experience.

I agree with you roque. I have had an excellent experience probably 95% of the time, and those very infrequent times when there is some small problem (and I really have only encountered small problems) it has been fixed immediately and cheerfully.

I can only think of one negative experience that I have even had at WDW. But it wasn't all about me and in the end was handled very well. I agree with you. It is all in the attitude...

I hear what you're saying Rogue!!!

While certainly Disney is not perfect, some people do seem to dwell on the negative and seem to take the postive things for granted. .

No problems with CMs here. I agree that in many cases, bad service was the direct result of a bad customer, but I don't pretend to know the truth in any particular situation that somebody posts about here.

I do have some issues with the strategic direction the company is taking, and the cutting of certain services, like in-room package delivery. I think they are also making a mistake with many of the new attractions, in that they are not up to what most of us expect from Disney. And there is an awful lot of time going by between major attractions, especially considering Disney must keep folks interested in 4 parks.

But the CMs themselves seem to be doing the best they can, and I have had no issues with them. I think perhaps they are sometimes put in positions they shouldn't be, due to staffing cuts, but again, that's a problem with the overall strategy and not the on-stage CMs themselves.

raidermatt...did they discontinue the package delivery to the hotel? or did they used to Actually deliver it to the hotel AND deliver it to your room?? I have only stayed on site since 2000 and if they used deliver to the room i didn't know that. However, i don''t mind going to the gift shop to pick up my purchases.

They used to deliver it to your room, and now do it only to the gift shop.

I also prefer to have them sent to the gift shop rather than carry them. Its just that delivery to the room was even better.

The gift shop route does take more time. The benefit to Disney was reduced delivery expense, and they get us into another store...

Don't get me wrong, WDW's package delivery isn't keeping me up at night. Its just that its one example of an overall shift in philosophy.

While I don't like the shift, and don't think its in Disney's best long-term interests, WDW/DL remain wonderful and Magical places for us!

Well said, Rogue, and some good points also, Matt. I think we do expect the finest and best in service, entertainment and whatever else from Disney, that is what they have taught us to desire, and expect. They do deliver almost always, in my experience. The CM's, I have often said, are what makes the place what it is. I have used this site's pins and followups a number of times. http://whatwouldwaltdo.com/index.shtml They do appreciate it.

I find that interacting with CM's is one of the cool parts of a WDW trip. Many of them can handle even the most difficult guest, and if you are pleasant, it is amazing the positives that come back to you.

Great post, roque. There is good and bad in all companies. I've been fortunate to see mostly good but who knows what the next trip will bring?
