Hmmm, possible testing of something new after hours with castle

Staying at Bay Lake Tower right now. It seems Disney may be testing something new for the castle after hours. About an hour and a half after the park closes, the castle looks even more spectacular than usual, it has what looks to be various effects including waterfalls, moving lights, etc..... Some small fireworks go off as well. I've stayed at the Polynesian last year and this didn't happen. Even the normal changing colors looks more vivid. I will try to get video if I see it again. Does anyone know what's up?

There could be a special event at the castle - or are they testing out the new show where the photos show on the Castle?

Has that officially debuted yet?

Yes, the castle projections are being worked on most likely...they've recently installed the massive projectors above Main Street

They were testing again tonight, unfortunately I was walking back to room and didn't have my video camera. Looks like these projectors will allow for some amazing special effects and will transform the castle into various forms (think sorcerers hat during wishes on steroids). It appears they have a way to mimic the holiday castle lights with the projectors. This will be really cool for holiday effects, special events, etc..... The castle will soon have the ability to transform into whatever the imagineers wish. They are testing much more than the online disney surprise videos being marketed. This will be very cool, can't wait to see what the creative minds come up with.

They were doing more testing tonight when i was back in the room so was able to get about 10 mins worth of video. Traveling with iPad so I can't post until next week when I get back to my computer. I don't think the video will do it justice but it's still really cool and you will get an idea of what is possible once it's in full effect.

Definitely sounds like the Let the Memories Begin projection show. I believe it starts in the next week or so

Definitely not projections. It's more like they turned the castle into a huge Jumbotron!

Mike is right, it turns the castle into a huge jumbotron, it appears like 3d. The effects I noticed include water, fire, a different castle image, fire, water, bats or some sort of birds (possible halloween effect), what looked like the holiday lights, etc... I will post the video when I get back. This is not the memories videos, that is basic compared to what I have seen. Hopefully they test again tonight.

Loved the test video. Is it me, though, or are the actual projected pictures the weakspot of the whole premise? I think the projected canvases are far more interesting than the scrolling PhotoPass pictures.

I agree! I have seen some amazing things done with projects onto all sorts of buildings, and this isn't blowing my mind. Yes its cool, but I hope they get some more detailed animations up (other than the fish one which looked great).
