Hmm how do I get to the Poly for 7:35AM?

Where we are from the taxi drivers don't get paid vacation or any time off. He has worked 6 nights a week for 8 years, usually 14 hour shifts. He has been through every stereotypical taxi story you could imagine... and he is quitting 6 days before we go! This is his first vacation in 12 years.

I remember when I was younger I work full time at Mc Donalds for a year. After I quit, I couldn't even smell grease without gagging, and I didn't eat there for a few years!

If I can plan things that might add that little extra magic for my love, I will  The plan is the avoid taxis at all cost! Just like when I am in Disney World, I will refuse to touch a computer (I'm a Systems Administrator). This is my first real vacation EVER so I want it to be really special for all of us!

You could take a taxi and tip an extra few dollars. An extra $5 may not make a big difference in your vacation budget but might make the taxi driver very happy.

What crowd? At 6:30, the OP & party may be the only ones on the bus!;)
Message Board Etiquette Rule 5: I am always right ;)

In fairness, okay, no 'crowd' - but there may be more than just the OP and her fiance getting off a bus.

I guess I just don't understand He will be a passenger either on a bus or in a taxi...

The OP loves her fiance; after over 279,000 hours of DRIVING a taxi, he prefers not to be anywhere NEAR the inside of one. She's simply trying to do something nice for him.

I'll drive!:goodvibes
For the record, this offer is being made BY a Walt Disney World bus driver, LovesHerTaurus... now all you have to do is figure out who he is, and hope he works the right schedule and has your route!

Hmmmm, never heard of Rule 5!!!! But, I think I'll just leave that particular can of worms closed.

Well....I do know that some Disney CMs are able to be bought for good chowdah....I do believe I have a couple of them waiting for me to arrive the end of the month so as to drive me around...:lmao:

Okay, my last comment--I promise;)

The only reason I keep suggesting the taxi, is because it is sooo much less painful than the multi-transportaion, earlier morning option. You don't have to wait anywhere at anytime or make multiple stops along the way, and you have door to door service when YOU want it.

Best wishes, and I hope your bus ride works out!

My personal aversion to WDW transportation has a lot to do with my suggestion as well! We rent a car and always drive ourselves everywhere unless we use the boat transportation from VWL, BWV, or BCV.

Comment all you like!

This is like a brain storming thread for me. And in any other case I would jump on the taxi idea.

This is a wedding/honeymoon/quitting his job/my graduation/his starting school in September/first Disney trip/first family trip, trip. I'm making it magical from the kick-butt wedding itself, to the tiniest thing I could do to bring a smile to any one's face. Especially his. He has been especially amazing when it comes to female hormones, and since my daughters are entering and IN the hormone age... and he is surviving in a house of girls? I even have plans a few afternoon so he can shower without anyone knocking on the door for once or trying to talk to him while he is the washroom :goodvibes

I appreciate all the advice, especially since I'm a newbie first timer over obsesser about everyone's happiness. From transportation, to BBB advice for finding a dress in a size 14, I love DIS :rotfl:

AND be charming.

You have beautiful eyes and a lovely smile :lovestruc
Hmmm... this is starting to sound a LOT like the 'sucking up'/shopping scene from "Pretty Woman"... :teeth:

It's a temporary rule, created and invoked for rare threads such as this one when it's absolutely necessary for me to BE right. :rotfl2:

No problem with commenting as often as you like....especially when the comments are nicely put, as yours have been.

But, I will say that we never have any issue with the early buses. They work just fine for us. We plan accordingly. Getting up early is not a bad price to pay rather than paying for a rental car. I know that when I go to Orlando next year, I will have to rent a car....US/IoA, then DCL and then back to WDW for a few days. And it is adding over $300 to my budgeting...something I hate doing. But...others love having a car. I have no issue with the buses.
