Okay, so I found this on the great wide web, and I'm TOTALLY STARTING MY OWN RUMOR, UNDERSTAND?! I DO NOT HAVE A SOURCE, I'M JUST SPECULATING:

I wonder if these concept art drawings for Haunted Mansion themed rooms have anything to do with the super-secret refurbishment at...it's Carribean Beach Resort, isn't it? Or is it Coronado Springs with refurbishments going on and walls up everywhere?

I'd love thoughts. I *really* want that to be what's happening.

Unfortunately these were a mock up room at the same time the Royal Rooms were being designed and it was squashed around 2010. The renovation at CBR is underway and people are staying in the new rooms (myself included).

I can't see either of these two room designs being implemented at either of the above-mentioned resorts. They simply do not fit the themes of either resort whatsoever.

I didn't particularly think it fit CBR either, but I would have never thought the Royal Rooms would have gone into Riverside, either. It seems more suited to the Grand Floridian to me, but then that's a Deluxe and I think they were trying to make the moderates have a bit more family appeal for younger ones.

I really wish the Haunted Mansion rooms had become a real thing. The HM is my favorite. I do like the CBR Pirate room pictures, though, and I'd be lying if I said I didn't try to book the royal room for my daughter's sake.

If they were going to add HM rooms to a resort, I think the logical fit would be the French Quarter. Just being the smallest property would make it difficult. But a New Orleans flavor like in Disney Land would work.:moped:

Haunted mansion rooms would work in port Orleans if at Disneyland...
Remember the haunted mansion at wdw is themed around new york's Hudson valley (the sleepy hollow area)...so that would be closer to Saratoga springs - which if course is timeshare and would never have any kind of overlay.

Ug, I really wish they would make these rooms. I love the concept. Would have been so great.

The Royal Rooms are supposed to be Princess Tiana's rooms, and she is from Louisiana/New Orleans so it fits.

I know this thread has been answered, but just think for a moment:

What if WDW began a Haunted Mansion Resort?

Themed rooms, creepy exterior, counter-service restaurant that looks like the ballroom scene...ugh, it'd be phenomenal.

Not gonna happen anytime soon, though, so I'll just wait until the next room opens up at the Hollywood Tower Hotel.

:hmghost:

Honestly I think Haunted Mansion has been overlooked a lot by Disney until recently. People have always craved this ride and merchandise. I just returned back from the world two weekends ago and the Haunted Mansion store was always packed. My cast member friend also told me they have been having lines outside of it to get into the store. I wouldn't put it past Disney to have haunted mansion rooms at POR or something in the future. With our luck we will have frozen rooms before anything else:rotfl:

Until the kiddies start to wake in the wee-hours with nightmares ? :scared1:

No scarier than inside of the ride itself. If Disney can manage Halloween without it being "too scary," I think they could figure out a way to make a HM hotel a success. I for one would LIVE there.

Or how about a HM themed restaurant in the park? People love the attraction and Disney is sitting on an overlooked cash cow. They ought to make the most of it.

I have often said a wedding at HM would be awesome. Too bad it is all smoke and mirrors.

If they could make a restaurant or hotel I would love it, although I think a hotel would freak the heck out of kids at night. A restaurant would rival BOG in line length. It could have a ballroom, attic and Madame Leota room.

I really hope they do these rooms someday! I would love it, and my kids are just crazy enough to dig it too! I'm trying to think of what resort they could put them in, but I'm drawing a blank. Might add some spice to the CR, maybe? Really hope they do more with the HM theme in the future.

Oh heck yea!!! Hubby would put us on the waiting list for Haunted Mansion resort. They would sell out every room in Oct for sure.

I don't think it would really fit the theme of any existing hotels, but a new hotel with a darker theme would be amazing. Haunted Mansion, or Villain themed hotel would be amazing. I don't know if Disney would actually go through with it though.

I agree it wouldn't really fit with any current hotel themes, but I do think it could work at POR, in the other two mansion buildings. Those rooms look kind of boring anyway! I know it wouldn't be a perfect fit theme wise, but it could work. Then they could have boy themed rooms, and girl themed rooms. Boys kinda get ripped off theme wise right now. ;)
