Does anyone know if its possible to skip the first part where people are crammed in the small room for the preview, and instead go directly to the ride line? TIA

Thanks for the reply. Did you just ask the person at the door? Do you think its hit or miss, or do you have any advice?

Yes ask the CM at the door ( inside when you walk in). I have never had a problem with it I just say I need to skip the stretching room because ….. and they let me

I have read on here other being told no but this has never happened to me

This is at Disney world

Thanks-
Do they send you along with the previous group as they walk out? Do you know what happens if those doors are already closed?

Never had an issue. Just told the CM we need to bypass the stretching room. They give you a card and you go in a separate door that goes around and in a different way.

Ask at the point where you enter the line and again (if necessary) at the point just before where you enter the actual building.
It‘s possible you may be told no or that you can do it, but there will be a wait or you will need to come back later - all of those things have been reported at various times by people.

I have always been told no. Every single time. Even after describing how dangerous it would be for me to go through the regular way. Even after describing accidents that have occurred in the past. It completely depends on whether the CM feels like allowing it or not.

Are they still doing that with COVID? I thought I read somewhere that they're just walking you thru that room.

You can ask them to not pack as many people in the room, explain you have crowd issues.

While I can see them allowing people to bypass the room if they have a need, it isn't really reasonable to ask them to put fewer people in the room, as that slows down the entire process.

Actually, it is quite reasonable, one stretching room worth of fewer people isn't going to slow it down that much, even if they do it every 30 minutes, which I doubt happens that often. We have asked several times when our friend who has major crowd issues has been there and it had never been an issue. Just remember to always be polite when asking and explain why the need is there. Skipping the stretching room is actually skipping a very important part of the ride where your eyes get time to adjust to the lower light. Now if you are in a mobility device and being taken the back way because you can't do the moving ramps, you still get time to adjust, they just have you waiting in a different area.
