I know this is kind of a dumb question and I have already bought some nice walking shoes, but my question is, can you do US with flip flops? I've seen pictures of people at the parks wearing flip flops and sometimes flip flops can be very comfortable...

will they allow flip flops on rides?

thanks jai :surfweb:

I do flip flops. :thumbsup2 I have had no problems, you just dont have to walk as far as disney parks, I could not do them there. Some of the coasters you need to take them off and sit on them, but thats it.

Yeah, that. Although, we went for 4days, so I made sure to switch things up. One day sneakers, the next day flip flops, the next a sandal kinda thing, and the last day flip flops. (just make sure they're comfy on the skin between your toes!)

I live in my slaps (flip-flops). I tried sneakers once on a theme park vacation, and by the second day, I needed a different shoe. I tried on a Reef slap and have lived in them (or other colors) since.

We just spent eight days in the parks, and DH & I didn't take ours off. They're so comfy and airy :)

I will be wearing mine. I was just asking my DW this morning whether I should even pack socks because I don't think I will be bringing my sneakers. (She told me to bring them anyway, just in case!) But I think I will be wearing the flip-flops the whole time...:thumbsup2

Dueling Dragons is the only once that requires this. Either put them on your hands or sit on them. Doctor Doom may or may not require this, but it's best to put them in the side storage bins or leave them directly below your seat. Kicking them off is Not Good. It can cause the people waiting for the next launch to be delayed.

I wore mine every day of vacation....to me they are airy and lightweight and more comfortable than my heavy reebok runners. Bean #1 wore her sneakers this trip (she wanted to wear her flip flops) but she goes on all the coasters and didn't want to lose them!

I guess if you have a really comfy pair of flip flop then you should be just fine....make sure you do what the others say and just sit on them when on DD and Hulk. They sure come in handy on the water rides though :thumbsup2

Funny story. DD wore her flip flops on our last trip....after riding dudley she was a little wet to say the least, and squeaking soooo loudly as she walked that a guy a few steps behind us yelled "Hey could you oil that kid or something!" well, SHE was mortified - - - WE were hysterical!!! :lmao:
ahhhh....memories.

We do flip flops only at UO...I'd suggest bringing along some band-aids or moleskin in case of strap irritation. I've also tried Nike Free's at WDW, which are running shoes with minimal arch support and can be worn sockless...they are comfy and do well on the water rides, but I always end up going back to flip flops.

thanks guys! i think i might do both... so slaps is a brand of flip flops?

I am a Floridian, so I'm really not aware that there are any shoes BUT flip-flops. I wear 'em to the parks always, and the only thing I ever have to watch out for is people inadertently trompling my feet. But that is pretty much a rareity.

My brother, my wife and I all wore flip-flops with no problems. I just ended up sitting on two pairs (wife's and mine) on some of the coasters... and our feet were FILTHY at the end of the day.

Yep, if Im in a theme park, Im in flip flops =) You do sacrifice a little bit of support, but if you get wet...it sooo much better than wearing tennis shoes and socks!

what's your favorite flip flops and why? im very interested in the whole flip flop thing..

Any and all flip flops will do for me (well as long as they are flat --- efinitely no heels for me), but Reefs are my fave brand.

I've never been able to 'do' flip flops at all......until last year when I bought my first pair of Crocs Athens :thumbsup2

I wore them all arounfd the parks and have, rarely, worn anything else since we returned home - even through the winter

I'm now the proud owner of 3 pairs :woohoo:

I have been hearing lots of good stuff about the crocs athens. They also have another style of flip flop too, right?

I have a pair of speedo flip flops that came from kohl's and they are very comfy.....my oldest has a pair of adidas and they are like walking on air!!

I ONLY wear flip flops! I used to wear sneakers, but about 10 years ago my feet started hurting with all the park walking. I switched to my flippies and have never gone back.

Reefs (my fav's)
Rainbow - the creme de la creme of Flippies (really expensive though!)
Sugar Shoes

Leave them on the ground for DDFF. I have small feet so one of my brothers just puts them in his pocket on DD or i sit on them. he he!

A couple times CM's actually made me put them in the net thing on Mummy and MIM. Was kind of strange to me - but hey!
