Hi. We are planning to do the overnight Airport hotel and parking thing. We have previously stayed at the Post House Hotel (now Moat house I believe) but more expensive this time round. So............. after checking out all the possibilities we have narrowed it down to the Europa or the Renaissance. We are a family of 2 plus 2 kids, and a friend coming along requiring a separate room. The Europa is coming out at £120 for family room and £65 for our friend in a twin including 15 days parking and the Renaissance £223 for the same package. Europa includes free shuttle to the airport, Breakfast at £10.95 pp. The Renaissance has a £2pp payment for use of their shuttle - so it would seem Europa would be the best deal. Have been on TripAdvisor and some say good, some say not good! So looking to you folks...... :D

We stayed here quite a few years ago. I remember the rooms being absolutely fine but I thought the restaurant was a bit pricey for what it was.

At that time, you had to book your place on the free shuttle bus and there was limited space. If you do opt for this hotel, check the situation with the shuttle bus and book your places as soon as you check in!

We stayed there last year.
Room was basic but ok, we also had to book places on shuttle bus going to the airport BUT we waited over an hour for the bus to pick us up on our return. So check the frequency of the return buses as that wait was awful especially as buses going everywhere else seemed to pass at least twice!!

Thank you for your replies. Can you tell me about the parking at Europa...how was that?

Also if anyone has stayed then at the Renaissance - views on this one would be very much appreciated too.....especially the shuttle bus service and parking. I read that sometimes they give you a voucher to park in
long-stay parking rather than at the hotel. We would rather park at the hotel our night of arrival and not have to bother with the car again, apart from putting in the overnight bag into the boot! It would defeat our purpose of staying overnight at the hotel if we had to re-park it to long-stay in the morning. It also that is the case with a few of the others too.

Hi again,

We arrived late at the Europa and had to park quite a long way from the main reception on quite rough ground. Car was ok when we got back though.

Hi. Thanks for that. Decided to book the Renaissance and pay a bit extra. The parking facilities seem to be better and has ok reviews on tripadvisor. I think the Europa would have probably been fine for us - but when I rang them they could not guarantee that I would be able to park on-site at the hotel and although we would be given a voucher to park at long-stay parking, didn't want to have the hassle of that.
