Hitting the "Holiday Road" for Thanksgiving!

I'm sorry to hear about your DH. What does he do?

He is an Architect. Still looking. Hopefully something will come through soon :thumbsup2

Knee surgery??? Are you serious???

DH's knee has been bothering him for a few weeks. It's been getting worse instead of better, so I told him to go to the doctor. He went yesterday, they did and MRI and gave him a diagnosis today. He has a torn meniscus and has to have SURGERY to correct it. Surgery. 30 days before our trip. Ugh.

The doctor said it's an easy, routine surgery. DH should be walking normally once the surgical swelling goes down and he shouldn't have any problems doing Disneyworld. But, I am still worried. I really don't want him to have to have surgery at all, no matter how minor it may be. Tony is telling me not to worry, but worrying is what I do.

I can understand how you are feeling. Anthony has Multiple Sclerosis so I can understand not wanting anything to get in the way of his mobility. I will be praying for his quick recovery and I think that a Disney trip will fix all of the problems. :) Keep us posted on how hes doing.

Day one of your plans look good :)

Tony's knee has been doing pretty well. He is a week out from surgery and is walking on it without a crutch. He is doing physicaly therapy twice a week, and his doctor said again that he should be fine. So, I am starting to feel a little better.

No trick or treating for us tonight :( Alexandra isn't feeling well, so we are just hanging out at home. They got to go to a Halloween party last weekend, so at least she got to wear her costume. I think I will take their costomes (Mickey and Minne Mouse) with us on our trip and have them wear them there to make up for tonight.

Hi Giovanna! I just came across your trip report and wanted to pop in and say hello! Your plans look great and I think you will be very pleased with Windsor Hills - I have stayed there twice now (Oct 2008 in a 3 bedroom townhouse and Dec 2008 on a girls trip - also in a 3 bedroom townhouse)! The resort is beautiful, the space is so nice (especially with extended family) and it is so close! Do you know the short cut to AK via Sherbeth Rd? If not, let me know I will send you the info!

Your trip is very close! Woo-hoo! Thanksgiving is so fun - busy, but very fun! You are going to have a blast! I hope you plan on doing a report on it when you get back! :woohoo::woohoo:

Sara

Oh my goodness, Sara (mom2mek) is replying to my pre-trippie! Your mega "herding cats" trip report is the inspiration behind this trip. After reading it I decided to take the plunge and stay offsite. We are also having Thanksgiving dinner at Trails End based on your favorable review :)

Where is trailsend? Tell me more. We are thinking of ordering form boston market or one of the grocery stores for Thanksgiving. We are having Thanksgiving on Sunday with the family that is not going on the trip with us. Complete with Turkey and Pumpkin Pie. We have 13 days until we leave. I can't believe it.:banana::banana:

The last few weeks have been CRAZY. But, we are still going!

Alexandra ended up getting Swine Flu  and just as she started getting better, John and I got it as well. DH got the vaccine and hasn't gotten sick thank goodness. So it was a rough 10 days around here. But, we are all feeling fine and ready to go! 3 days and I feel eerily calm and not at all frazzled- which probably means I am forgetting something big, LOL.

Hi MerissaAndMomLoveDis! Thanks for visiting :)

Well, we leave tomorrow and we are knee deep in packing. The house is a mess and now I am remembering all those things that need to be done that I'd forgotten about a few days ago.

Today at MK:

8:15- Left Condo
8:45- Watched rope drop ceremony
Morning at MK- Carousel, Philharmagic, Small World, Swiss Family Treehouse
11:35- Lunch at Crystal Palace
1:30- Left for midday break
5:30- Returned to MK from break
6:00- Dinner at Cosmic Rays
Evening at MK: Haunted Mansion, Peter Pan, BTMRR, Jungle Cruise, Country Bears, SpectroMagic, Alladin's Carpets, Wishes

We really underestimated how tough all the walking would be for MIL. We could have done more, but we spent a lot of time waiting for her to catch up. So, we decided to get her a scooter for the rest of the week.
