Hi,

Has anyone ever hired a photographer for a special picture in front of the castle? i was wondering if you could recommend one and what the price was.

thanks, wendy :earsboy:

The photograhers on main street (hanging out right there on main street with camera in hand) do a really great job! I was not interested in having it done until my friend "made me do it" and it was sooooo cute.

It was $12-16 and they added in Tinkerbell and a nice border and a date on the photo. I do it every time we go now. I would imagine hiring someone would be big bucks.

Your only other option (other than the Main Street photographers mentioned above) is hiring Disney Photographic Services. I believe their packages start at $275.00. Disney won't allow you to hire an outside photographer and bring them into the park.

I have a hard time believing that Disney has a way to make sure this doesn't happen. I mean, if someone has a ticket to a park they're allowed to bring in any kind of camera they like, and if they're with you group they can, of course, take your picture in front of the castle.

To the OP, I hope you get a few suggestions. Maybe try posting this on the Weddings Board as lots of them hire photographers.

You could probably sneak it, but would you want to risk getting caught and possibly thrown out of the park? I know I wouldn't. I don't think any of the Disney Wedding photographers would do it. I believe they sign an agreement w/ Disney to be allowed to shoot weddings on property and something like that would be in violation of that agreement. They know what side their bread is buttered on. (FYI, I'm a former Disney bride).

One great thing I would like to mention regarding the new photo policy (I mean that now when you have a Disney photographer take your picture for you for the first time, they will scan a plastic card. You keep that card and then give that card to any other Disney photographer so that you have one card for all of our photos)

We asked each photographer to take a lot of photos to make sure we had at least one good one in front of the castle, with the MGM hat behind us, at AK with the Tree of Life in the background. They usually took at least four and if no one else was around, even more! we got some great (but expensive shots!)

Another tip, if you really want to have an awesome shot in front of the MK castle . . . book an early character breakfast at Crystal Palace. We booked an 8:30 breakfast on a day the park opened at 9 am. There were lots of photographers just standing around, waiting for our smiles! :teeth:
