my cousin and her husband are event planners. hired them to do dd's bat mitzvah. (they're not charging me a fee, they'll get paid through commissions from the vendors.) I feel so relieved.

Kudos to you for your decision. I am all for letting people do things for me that I don't have time to do myself.

I just let my DH convince me not to paint our kitchen myself. This was a big decision for me because I actually like to paint and I'm good at it. I also wanted to try a painting technique that I have in my head how I'd accomplish it, but I don't know that anyone else would be able to get it to look the way I wanted it. I'll just have straight paint on the walls for now. Maybe someday, there will be more than 24 hours in a day so I can do what I want to do, what I like to do, and what I have to do. So far the "have to's" are winning.

Your party will be lovely, I'm sure, and with no stress on you.

the party is in november. the invites go out in september. I was in panic mode until I met with the cousins.

Planning huge soirees like that is pretty much a full time job.
It sounds like a relief to pass the annoying detail planning off to an event planner

and since it's my cousin, she'll make her money from commissions paid by the venders. so she gets a profit, i get relief what was becoming a nightmare of planning, and dd gets a wonderful party.

How wonderful that you will be able to just enjoy yourself at the party with someone else making it happen! I highly recommend this to anyone with an event! Without it my wedding day would not have been such a magical and enjoyable day, I would have been way too worried about things happening how I wanted them to.
