My popup is in storage in Winter Garden, FL. We have camped at FW at Xmas and love it, but always seem to run into bad weather between Florida and home. I would like to find someone who would pickup my popup and bring it to FW and then return it to storage at the end of the trip. That way we could fly down, but still camp. We also wouldn't have to drive 4 days to stay 7 days. I have checked with the storage facility and an RV dealer, but they didn't know of anyone. So, if anyone knows, it will be all of you on the camping board!

What dates are you going ? There might be some who is also staying at FW at that time.

That's a thought. I wouldn't want to impose on anyone and I would pay for gas and time. We'd like to go Xmas 2008 beginning the weekend before Xmas for 10 days or so. I haven't tried to make a reservation yet, because 1. it's going to be hard to get and I'm going to have to call daily and 2. I don't want to hold a site that someone else might be looking for.

I have family in Orlando, he is a CM. I will be talking to them in the next couple of days, and will ask him if he is interested.

Pm me with details and how much you want to spend, and I will see if he is interested.

OK, dis'ers, help me out with this part too. What would be a reasonable amount? I don't want to insult anyone, but I have been known to frequent the Budget Board, too. LOL I'm thinking it's about 20-25 miles from FW to Winter Garden. I think it takes us about 30 minutes to get there. We go out the Western Way and straight up 429. (I think that's the route #.) So we're talking a minimum of 2.5 hours and approx 100 miles total.

Your not gonna insult him, if its not enough, he won't do it!:rotfl: I will probably call him before superbowl tomorrow, so just give me a rough idea, if he likes the idea, I will pm you his phone #

Something to consider. How is he going to put it on the site for you since he won't be able to check in for you? He could drop it off in the parking lot but if you fly in, how are you going to tow it to the site. I've heard of businesses that rent campers and might set them up on site for the customer but I don't remember how they got pass the front gate without a credit card of the of the person renting the site.

I would imagine they have to meet up at the overflow and ride in with the site holder. You could request a Colorado crew cab or Frontier for your rental and pull it in with that. Bring the size ball u need as rentals don't have a receiver.

We would come in on ME. I thought about renting a truck, but rental company rules say no towing. We could meet in overflow. It also depends on what time we get to FW. If it's night, then my family would have to wait in the lobby while we went to get the camper. (a little over an hour) If it were during the day, then they could go on time parks etc. FW would store the luggage. Another factor is John's CM family - what if he is scheduled to work? I'm thinking there must be a way someone to drop off at our site -most likely it has already been done. Maybe if the reservation is paid in full, it's noted on the res, and I speak to a manager directly...

got it, will call him today.

Would you consider staying in a hotel room for the first night and then arranging to meet in the lot the next day?

If you do a split stay , Disney will move your lugggage for you, and the family could go on to a park and have fun while you take care of business.

There is a person here on the DISboards that rents campers to use at FW. They bring it in and set it up for you. I'm sure if they catch this post they could tell you how they do it or may be do the delivery and setup for you.

I did PM her, but she is about 2 hours away from FW. I think it would be less expensive to find someone local or already at FW unless she's already going to be in the area.

I called him for you, but haven't heard back yet. I will call him agian tonight.

John,

I wasn't worried. I knew about your dog and knew that was more important.
