Hi all, I am travelling in August 2025 in a group of 8 adults, we are staying in Orlando in an villa which is between 15 and 30 minutes away from Disney (I don't have the exact location yet). I don't really want to have to hire 2 cars and pay $60 a day in parking ideally, how feasible is it to get to the parks form the various Villa resort areas around Disney.

Thanks in advance for any advice you guys can offer.

Will you be able to book rideshares? That's pretty much your only other option unless you dig deep into the local bus system and can somehow figure out bus routes which I don't even know if that's possible to all the Disney theme parks. Public transit in the US is a sad, sad situation outside major cities.

Personally your plan to skip the car rental doesn't sound terribly feasible to me for a long trip. You'd have to have 2 rideshares everywhere and you'd need rideshares to go to the grocery store or any other errands. Staying off-site can be a great deal- but part of the calculus includes transportation.

Rent an 8 passenger minivan. You’ll need luggage squished in for airport back & forth (done it) but van will be worth weight in gold during trip.
Even if the luggage doesn’t fit they can always make 2 airport runs, not the end of the world for part of an adult group to chill at MCO for awhile.

Thanks for the response that’s really helpful, spoons like a car is the way forward ☺️

With 8 people, I would suggest two cars since the entire group may not want to have the same agenda and schedule.

The cost of two smaller cars vs. one large van should be investigated.

Of course, you would need two eligible drivers.

Since you’ll have cars anyway, so that cost is there regardless of how you choose to get to the parks, have you looked into the cost of an annual pass for the driver(s)? Parking is included and it may wind up being cheaper than parking or ride sharing.

Renting one car that holds 8 people would be your best option here. Private shuttles, taxis, or rideshares would probably cost more to get that many people to and from the airport and parks every day, and they'd be less convenient. If luggage is an issue, you can use one rental car and one rideshare just to and from the airport.
