There are lots of car rental firms operating out of Sanford. If Holidayautos cant tell you, which I'm sure they should be able to, it could be any one of them. Its a pity no-one else will drive. If theres 9 of you, I think you'll get a 15 seater (tell me if I'm wrong anyone), as 'normal' minivans are usually 7 or 8 seats only. We always rent a 7-8 seater, and there's only 4 of us, if you fill all the available seats in one of these vans, you've very little luggage space left, if any!!!!

Oops, my mistake. Just been on the Holiday autos web site, and there's a 12 seater van, which strangely costs more than the 15 seater. I know it's too late for you Lee, but they dont appear to be the cheapest rental company around. I've been quoted £169/week for a 7 seater, Holiday autos is coming out at £192 for the same car.

We've paid much more than you in the past, you've not got a bad deal by any means!

As for driving... well, it's a lot easier (IMHO) than driving in the UK. Big wide roads, auto transmission, big V6-8 engine, slower speed limits, the list is endless. The only thing you've to watch out for are the road signs which straddle the roads. The signs in the UK indicate which lane goes where, they dont in the US! But you get use to it quickly, just make sure you have a simple map to get from the airport to where you're staying.
Btw, I think driving is one of the highlights of a Florida trip! I love it!!!!!
Just as well dw refuses to drive, stating it'll end in us crashing. she exaggerates!

Driving is really easy :thumbsup2

First time I drove in Florida I was a very nervous driver, having only passed my test about 6 months previously

I loved it then, and still do :sunny:

It is much easier driving in Florida than in the UK, although I don't think it's quite as much pleasure as it used to be.
Possibly down to increase in volumes of traffic.
Unfortunatley there are bad drivers wherever you go.

One thing that caught me out was some of the exits when leaving the I4, some of the turn off's are on bends that are almost like full circles.
So from doing 60-65 mph you are quickly down to 35-40 whilst almost doing a full turn.

.................and sometimes, there seems to be no rhyme, nor reason, behind the way turn offs are signposted :lmao:

I still love it though ;)
