Hip Hip Hooray for Christmas Vacation... Disney Style!!! A Dec 2010 PTR

Just booked our Airfare for August!!! :cool1: :yay: :dance3: :cheer2:

Super excited that the trip is only a month away. Once I got the airfare booked, I called Disney right away and gave them my flight info for Magical Express so hopefully we will be getting Disney Mail soon!!! :goodvibes

my mom wants to go to WWOHP but the girls have no interest so I don't see the point in spending the money for us to go. Maybe in a couple years when the crowds aren't crazy

Here is what one of the Cruise Board gals had to say about it, she was the first of our group to get to Orlando since our return from Europe on May 28th. :confused3

"I just wanted to report back to everyone. I just got back from our July 4th trip and did Harry Potter land. It was nice, but I didn't feel it lived up to the hype. The crowds just completely ruined it for us. It was so crowded that you had to wait on line to do anything - ride the rides, enter the shops, pay at the shops, eat, go the bathroom, order Butterbeer. It was really awful. The land itself is VERY tiny and they had so many people packed into it. The ride was fun, but not worth a 2 hour wait, so make sure you get there early! Butterbeer was AWESOME - go for the frozen version! And the shops were so busy you couldn't move, never mind try to buy something. So instead, shop at the huge gift shop as soon as you enter IOA - it had 90% of the HP stuff there, with no crowds at all. Overall, we enjoyed it, it was nice to see, but don't feel the need to go back anytime soon. It certainly wasn't as 'ground breaking' as they were advertising."

Oh no!!! I sure hope the crowds are not that bad when we go in a few weeks!!! We are huge Harry fans, matter to fact I am watching Goblet of Fire as I type this! :lmao: And I did here the frozen butterbeer is excellent, so we will be trying that and the pumpkin juice!

That's awesome that you are getting a mini vacation! I couldn't wait till December either, that's why we are going in September for MNSSHP!

Your plans sound like so much fun! :cool1: I'd love to go back to Universal; we haven't been there since before we had kids. So glad you found reasonable airfare.

Wow reese a mini trip :yay: good for you. I hear ya that the same amt of money could be spent at the shore. We just got back from TN and I was thinking the whole time that the money we spent could have been better spent on a trip to disney. I know its horrible I should just be happy we got to be on vacation but I compare everything to disney and nothing ever adds up.

Congrats also on finishing your masters degree! What a great accomplishment!:thumbsup2

Hey Linds! Hope you all had a great time in TN!!! I'm the same way with the comparing EVERYTHING to Disney!!! :rotfl: It's true thou, when you add up the $$ you would spend doing a trip to the shore, it's cheaper to go to Disney!.

YAY!!! :cool1:

So excited for you...

And I bet it would totally throw Devon off if he had any thoughts of a Disney trip later in the year!!!

Thanks Toni! We are definitely excited! Devon got bored yesterday evening and asked if e could go pack for the trip! :rotfl: I told him no, so he said tha he would just go up to his room to think about what he is packing! :lmao: Tell me that boy doesn't take after his mom!!!

And he really has NO clue about the December trip which is going to make it all the better when I finally do finally tell him. This little mini trip is definitiely going to throw him off!

Where did you spend time in TN ? I love the Smokey Mountains and Nashville is always fun even though the flood did some real damage to some really nice spots.

We stayed in a cabin in the smokey mountains gatlinburg area. We also were only 10 minutes from pigeon forge. We did dollywood and splash country and then other things around there.

FINALLY!!! That about sums up my post for today… We FINALLY booked our airfare for our December Trip!!! :cool1: After much waiting and hoping for the prices in airfare for Non-Stop flights from Philly to come down, they finally did (just a bit though)!!!

So… We will be flying with AirTran out of PHL on Friday 12/3 (My Birthday) at 8:20a which means we will need to be up and out pretty early that morning, but its ok because we’re going to DISNEY WORLD!!! Good thing is we only live 10 minutes tops from Philly International so we really don’t need to leave the house till after 6a! We arrive at MCO at 10:54a. Woo Hoo!!!! :cutie:

Coming home we have a 6:21p flight out of MCO arrive in Philly at 8:47p. Basically we have a full last day in Disney.

Gotta tell ya, I feel so much better now that the flights are all booked!!! Makes the trip seem that much closer and that much more REAL!!! ;)

Oh yeah, one more thing… Of course I called Disney straight away and gave them all of our flight info for Magical Express so we are good to go!!! YAY!!!
:woohoo:

I know you must be just as excited as we are!!!

haha, you have no idea. It's hard to believe I only have a couple weeks left of summer school then a week before our trip.:eek: We can't wait!

Congrats on booking your Dec. airfare. That is nice to have pretty much a full day on your last day. :thumbsup2

Congrats on the airfare! I know what you mean about comparing vacations. We are leaving for New Mexico on Friday for 5 days, and I 'm a little irritated that I have to take 3 vacation days to use on something other than Disney :lmao:
