I just got back from the mall and the Disney store had tons of pins on sale for 75% off!! I got 20 pins for $21.00. I figure this will be a great start-up for my girls on our trip in May. If you plan on pin trading this is a great (and cheap)way to start-off.

I doubt the sale is ending today although I didn't ask. Our store had so much merchandise on sale that it seems the sale will go as long as they still have sale items to sell! Our store didn't have a huge selection of pins, but had a ton of stuffed animals, toys, christmas stuff, costumes, t-shirts and fleece wear!

Yeah, I just went in today and got eight new pins for less than nine bucks. Incredible!

I bought 6 of the Magic Months pins, they rung up at 62 cents! Originally $5.00, that was 75% off, then another 50% off! Minus my 10% DVC discount, they came to $3.58!

Wow Debbie! They didn't have any of the Magic Month pins left, only the music, but we did buy over 40 for traders.

Last Sunday I bought 60 or so pins for my son to trade and collect at 50% off. I saw the 75% sale on the pins and the refunded me another $71. WOW! He is only 3, so this way he can trade lots of pins every day on our vacation.

This is a great way to save $$$ and have a fun vacation.

I just got back and purchased 100 traders for a grand total of $108 including tax and DC discount:bounce: :bounce: :bounce: :bounce: :bounce: :bounce: :bounce:

I just got back from my local disney store. Some of the pins rang up as $1.12 and others as 62 cents!!! WOW!!! Plus I got my DC discount of 10%. So it was only $16 for 17 pins!!! I can't wait to return to WDW so I can trade them!!!

Ronda -- Yes.
The pin just needs to have the Disney backstamp.
Currently, DS also have pin trading with CM's in the DS on Tuesday evening from 7 - 9:00 p.m.

DD & I ran to the mall tonight and got 22 pins for $23.00; she's thrilled & can't wait for May to do some more trading. She scored some great pin trades in Nov, but didn't have any left that she was willing to give up........she does now!!!! (Only problem is now she wants a vest, the lanyard isn't big enough LOL)

We are nuts....We now have purchased a grand total of 267 pins for trading.....and only spent about $230......These pins should last a few years if we split them up right....:D :D :D :D

my wife is ready to kill me with these pins. But, my son will have a ball, as will DADDY!!!!!

Just a few more hours until MAGIC!

Ok, having just been back from a trip in December, I have an observation or two to make...

1) I bought a bunch of pins before we left for $1 something or other. I had enough traders for me and DD to do trading, and I still have some left over.

2) CM lanyards were FULL of Disney Store pins. There were very few straight 'character', park, or non Disney Store pins.

3) I think with all the discounted pins, there is more diversity amongst those pins CMs have, but there's still the voice in the back of my mind - what value is Disney putting on these pins by discounting them so much? I know some vacationers just have no clue about what they are worth and what they could have gotten them for before their vacation, but there are large numbers of us out there buying TDS pins as enormous discounts and flooding the park CMs with them.

I don't even know really what point I'm trying to make besides that my pin trading just wasn't quite the same as the last trip when I did trading...

With the flood of discounted Disney Store pins I wouldn't imagine that the CM's would have much else anymore, and anyone who is "pin trading" savvy is not going to trade one of their WDW pins for a Disney Store pin that cost the guest less than a dollar.

Be careful you don't get stuck with all of those discounted pins!

Just an observation. Last August the CM were flooded with those Dopey pins that you could buy really cheap. In January I didn't see that many. I think that they go in cycles. When my kids had the Mickey and Minnie starter pins we just traded for anything when we saw a CM without that pin on their lanyard. That way it was easier to get what they wanted later on.

Our best pin trading last trip was at AK. We saw a lot of interesting pins here and they even have a book at the big gift shop that you can look through and trade from.
