can anyone tell me a little about the gatwick hilton hotel, what the rooms are like, restaraunts, breakfast and where the parking will be in late october, hope someone can help

We stayed here last September and we had a family room which was very roomy and clean.
Nice big comfortable beds and a well supplied bathroom, no need to take shampoos etc.
the furnishings were nice and you won't here any aircraft noise.
The lobby is very welcoming and really quite posh!
We did not eat in the restaurant and we noticed from the price list in our room that you needed a second mortgage to eat at the hotel.
Lots of pilots stay here so I spent a lot of time drooling, oh for a man in uniform!!!
The Hilton is just so handy for the south terminal and is really only minutes away from check-in all under cover, you don't go outside at all.
We travelled up by train, got out at south terminal, checked in with Virgin's twighlight check-in service and then walked straight to the hotel to relax, great especially when you have 2 small kids as I do.
We didn't use any of the facilities like the gym or pool so I can't really help you on that score.
We went back to the airport for dinner in Garfunkels as it was much more like our budget.
On returning to the hotel, I stopped of at the Body Shop for some bath bubbles and had a very relaxing evening in a wonderful hot bubbly bath while Paul and the boys watched telly, but beware of the Playstation games, they were a fiver a time for 1 hour!!!
The only thing I did not like about our room was that we seemed to be so high up and looking out of the window was a sheer drop and I did panick a bit when it crossed my mind how we would get out in an emergencey if we could not use the door!!!!!!!.
My, how mind plays tricks on me!!
hope i have been of some help

We too have stayed at the Hilton and are back there again in December. I would echo what Lin has said and found it a very convenient place to stay.

We too went into the airport to eat at Garfunkels for our evening meal but ate our breakfast in the Hotel. It wasn't cheap but there was a huge array of food at the buffet and it did mean that we weren't hungry for a long while!

We didn't investigate the swimming pool but understand it is quite small.

We had a family room for me and the two kids and it was plenty big enough with a very big bathroom with nice freebie toiletries (but good tip from Lin re. going to the Body Shop beforehand!).

There are trollies in the reception of the hotel so you can use those to help transport your luggage to the terminal.

Have fun!

Hi,

I ike the Hilton. Rooms are good ( being Hilton HHonors Gold has given me a couple of upgrades to the Executive rooms and lounge which is very good)
The main restaurant does a reasonable buffet breakfast

I found the gym to be good and the pool to be fairly large for a hotel ( not as large as the resort pools in the US for example but large enough for lap swimming)

Also nice to walk to the airport check in desks

does anyone know where the parking is for abc in october/november is it onsite or offsite

thanks

Any advice on getting a good deal at Gatwick Hilton?
Booking direct or using an agent or website?
Thanks

The parking used to be with Parking Express and was when I booked with ABC. I found out that they had changed it to another car park further away and you have to leave the keys with them. I kicked up a fuss as I had asked at the time and was assured Parking Express. ABC Extras were very good and issued two seperate vouchers, one for the hotel and one for Parking Express.
