Has anyone stayed at the Hilton Grand Vacation/villas? I saw this mentioned on a thread.
Am looking for somewhere deluxe with kitchen off disney for a few days next month. Any advice would be much appreciated, thank you.

We are DVC members & also Hilton Grand Vacation Club members. There are two Hilton Grand Vacation Clubs in Orlando: SeaWorld & International Drive ("Tuscany"). The one on International Drive is brand new. We have stayed at both. Excellent choices if you are driving. Perhaps it has changed recently, but the van/bus service to WDW departed about 10 a.m. & returned about 9 or 10 p.m. The Hilton timeshares can be rented as "studios", one-bedroom, two-bedroom. The one & two bedroom units have full kitchens complete with china & cooking gear.

Does the shuttle bus go a few times a day?
My teenager wants to be able to go to the parks by himself and come back in the afternoon if he wants to. Then to go back in the evening. Is it possible to have that kind of flexibility off site or do we need on site for the disney buses?
I am trying to decide between Hilton or POR riverside. Thanks.:headache:

The Hilton properties are superb & offer a lot you will not find at POR. However, if you have a teenager who you want to have the flexibility you outline IMOP stay on WDW property. Nothing beats WDW transportation.

We just got back from HGV at Sea World and loved everything about it. We had a rental car, which I feel is a must. It was wonderful to have the choice of both on-site and off-site restaurants to eat, not to mention the SPACE at a BARGAIN PRICE.

And you know what, between the AAA parking (close to the front of the parks), and learning the tricks/shortcuts to get back and forth, I swear we were home in less time than if we were still queueing up for a crowded bus that then had to s l o w l y (those big buses don't go too fast) take you to your resort all the way across the vast Disney property.

Yes, staying in a deluxe on the monorail would be faster, but you pay dearly for the convenience. And unless you pay a fortune for a suite, you're stuck in one really expensive room.

I too was SOOO worried after reading everything about how much better it is to stay on-site (and we DID, for one night), but I would never even worry about it ever again - it will be the same Hilton for us when we go back.

I have stayed at the HGVC Tuscany (in a 2BR), and it was gorgeous! However, I agree with John D that for convenience you may want to stay on-site with a teen. (In terms of transportation, etc)
