My DD and I will be staying at the Hilton next to Universal Studios. Looks close, but is it easy and safe to walk? Also, what else is in the vicinity? Any fast food joints for a quick bite?

Also thinking of stopping at Hollywood & Highland to get my DD a taste of Hollywood. Is it better to just park there on the way to the hotel, or is there a better option?

I have never stayed at the Hilton but I do know from driving into Universal Studios that it is literally right next to the park and is located in what they call Universal City. So I would say yes it is very close and safe walking to the park. If you go to the Hilton site it will have different pictures and the third picture over shows the Hilton on the right and Universal Studios is the pink and blue buildings on the left. It may be a little uphill going from the hotel to the park, but at least its downhill on the way back to the hotel when your already tired. Your going to love the new Transformers ride.

Click on this link to see the picture page I'm talking about, then click on the third picture over, the fourth picture over shows the universal globe right at the park gates with the Hilton right there behind it:

Yep. Easy and safe. It's on the Universal property. Up a slight hill, over the bridge and you're at the entrance. The entire Universal CityWalk is right there - plenty of food for a quick bite before you enter the park. The Hilton also has a dedicated shuttle. Drops you off in the center of CityWalk.

You could take the shuttle or walk down the hill to the subway stop, hop on and the very first stop is Hollywood/Highland

It's easiest to just park there.

Across the street from Hollywood & Highland is the El Capitan Theatre and the Disney Soda Fountain. Well worth a visit. Be sure to check out the Hollywood Walk of Fame sidewalk in front of these places.
