Anyone stay at either of these? I am trying to find a hotel near disney week starting March 12 and can't find anything open except these two and the Motel 6. Anyone stay at these and how is it with kids? I would like to have a place next to the park so we can walk but can't find any hotels available then.

If it is the hilton suites you are asking about I stayed there on our first trip to Disneyland about 14-15 years ago and it was awesome. Great cook to order breakfast bar. Rooms were very nice. I would hope since it is a hilton they have kept up or re vamped the rooms since then just because the time that has passed. Service was great too. Only draw back is the shuttle took a while to go back and forth but after a long day I kind of enjoyed the rest :)
The large glass elevator ride up to the room was a huge hit with the kids!

Jen,
Did you check thru expedia.com? They are showing a lot of availibility--including the Disneyland Hotel (at a reduced rate). How many nights are you looking for?

For 3 nights. Looked at Expedia didn't see anything, I'll look again.

Jen,
Actually, Orbitz has some great deals--at least for dates that are coming up soon (so not summer). Use the coupon code: DEALPRO10 to get 10% off. I just used it and it works.

Are you just looking at the hotel websites for availability? Try calling the hotels you're interested in because they might have availability that isn't listed on their websites. We had to do this last year when we went during spring break. The website for the hotel we wanted said there were no rooms available but when we called we were able to get the 3 rooms we needed for our group.

I've stayed at the Hilton (the one next to the convention center) and it was nice. We got it through priceline so we didn't pay very much for it and we were only there for one night. I liked the hyatt better but the hilton was fine. I seem to remember feeling like the ceilings were low and the bathroom door was kind of weird but those weren't big issues. Parking was expensive.

That is a good suggestion, Lavender Peach! I think that is true especially with the Best Western motels. The BWPPI showed all sold out last summer, but when I called they had a room there and at the other one down the street.

It makes it so much easier to stay walking distance--no busses or parking to deal with.

thanks for all your suggestions. I called all the hotels around the park I was really interested in at first, like the Park Vue, Best Western, etc on Harbor Blvd., and no luck. I did see the Disneyland Hotel and the Paradise Pier pop up last night on Orbitz and Expedia, and then today the rate jumped on the Paradise.

Anyway, we ended up just booking the Sheraton Anaheim! I'm sure we'll still have a load of fun! Now hoping for great weather! And my next idea is to check out online for the Ariel's Grotto I heard about?

We stayed at the Sheraton Anaheim 4 yrs ago. We really enjoyed it there. The rooms were very clean and spacious. I also remember the beds being quite comfy. If I remember correctly they have their own shuttle which I think is free. We were there during spring break and never really had to wait too long to get on the shuttle. It was a nice hotel and I would stay there again. HTH :)

The Dobies also like the Sheraton Anaheim. The shuttles are fantastic. . .they leave the hotel on the :00 and :30 and leave the park at the :15 and :45. The drive takes about 5 minutes.

The only thing that we don't like is food availability. . .there is a sandwich shop, but the restaurant is spendy and not thrilling. We make sure to eat in the parks.

You will have a great time!

We've stayed at the Hilton 3 times in the past couple years. Always through Priceline for about $60 but its luck of the draw and have gotten other Harbor hotels at times.

Hilton is very nice but huge. It's the largest hotel in southern California. We always ask for a room near the elevators. Otherwise plan for a long walk!

The parking garage has a height limit of about 6' which was too short for my truck. Instead we always parked at Sheraton which is right next door.

Have not used the shuttles but were told using Marriots was faster. They are only a minute walk across the street. Does Hilton, Sheraton and Marriot have their own shuttles or do they use ART?
