What chance do you think I have of getting a three night summer (July ?) reservation at HH at seven months ?

Is one size room easier then any other ?

2 BDR's are the most abundant, but in june, july, august, getting anything is very hard sometimes even beyond 7 mo. window. We bought a resale thre just for the 11 mo. booking advantage for summer months.

Try, you never know, and even if no luck on first attempt, I would call again.

I tried getting 5 nights at the 7 month window with no luck. I am on the waiting list but will continue to try other dates as they come available.

HH has 5 GVs, 21 Studios (all lock-off), 21 1BRs (all lock-off) and 76 dedicated 2BR villas. The summer months are the busiest, but many have had success in the past finding availability at 7 months ... and many of those members have purchased HH points to have the 11 month reservation priority.

It can't hurt to call and see what is available. It helps if your dates and villa-type are flexible.

We have a cash reservation just like last year and hope to get dates on points too. We currently have 6 nights on cash. Last year we were able to get 4 nights on points less than 2 weeks out.

I checked first thing this morning for a studio starting on July 8th and they had no availability.

I'm going to wait a couple more weeks and then try for a reservation any time in July. We can use either a one or two bedroom villa so that may help. We are also not tied into a certain date or days of the week at this point.

Have you checked the RCI trade option? there are several for Hilton Head and right on the beach! the one at Sea Pines might be the best, but all are ok. I live on Hilton Head, and have been to and stayed at Disney resort, if you have kids, I think the RCI alternatives are a better option. I love Disney but found the Hilton Head Resort a huge disappointment.there's not much to do as far as resort activities. It's nothing like Vero Beach, not even close.and it's a good mile and a half to two miles to the beach. you have to either take the shuttle, or drive. Unless you're in fantastic shape, DO not try to ride your bike. My son is in the Navy and required to do PT. he called and told the rest of us to take the bus or drive... he was right!

I know this is an old thread, but reading this has made me think! I didn't realize we could try for other options at HHI through the RCI. I guess we have never tried using the RCI alternatives anywhere yet, only used Disney options.

I had a lot of difficulty getting anything for this August at about 7 months, I believe I waited about a week after the 7 month mark

After calling back a few times, I finally got 3 nights in August, Fri-Sun, I am hoping to another night. I wanted either last week in July or first week in August. It books quickly....

I also checked at that time RCI, there were a couple resort available, but they were going fast.

Thanks, I know I am nervous about the 7 month window. We want to go the second week of May next year so I still have a long wait (want a 2 bedroom so that might help). If it doesn't happen we will have to come up with a plan B. But I am going to look up when the first day is that I can reserve and hope for the best

Mid week you have zero shot... weekend either end, chances are better, they hold inventory for cash and non members as all DVC's do, about a month out you can get lucky if you are willing to go on those high point fri sat and either sunday or thursday... two bedrooms do seem easier, but I hav had studios be easy too. I think if you sayanything, and they let go of the cash rooms, you get the two bedroom for the obvious reason...

Really? We wanted Mon-Thurs...May 12, 13, 14, and 15th of 2013.

You think at the 7 month window there won't be a 2 bedroom available? I know the studios and 1 bedrooms are harder to get, but we were going for the 2 bedroom.

I can't even try until October of this year, so if I can't get in, we will have to come up with a plan B. But that will be so disappointing. I was really looking forward to it and thought if we went in May it wouldn't be as busy.
