Hello!! I'm actually thinking of branching out beyond WDW (gasp!) - And I'm wondering what there is to do at Hilton Head. It would be the first of March (cold?)- and we are 2 adults and an almost 6yo. I know they have a pool - but beyond that - how many days could we occupy ourselves?

Thanks!! Jill

I guess the things you can do would depend upon the weather, but when we go, we rent bikes and bike all around the resort and parts of the island. There are great bike trails all around the island. We play miniature golf and sometimes go to the lighthouse in Sea Pines (I think). There are many great activities at the resort. My children (12,9, and 5) love Hilton Head and we've had some wonderful family vacations there.

We've been going to HH for 16 years and every summer we find something new to do. LOTS and LOTS of things---you'll have a great time. :sunny:

We're also annual Hilton Head vacationers. We go in July so the weather is much different than March (hot-hot-hot in July).

My kids love Hilton Head. They love to crab fish off the pier at the resort (I'm not sure what the seasons are for this).

Love to ride bikes. Hilton Head has wonderful paved paths that are very easy to ride. My DS5 has had no problem keeping up with us the last couple of years.

Love to walk the beach at sunset and find treasures or build sandcastles. Love to fly kites on the beach as well.

Pickney Island isn't far from the resort and worth a trip. Nice walking paths there also in a natural setting.

There are many things offered through the resort -- geared both towards families and children.

We love to do the dolphin tour/beach combing/shark fishing trips arranged through the resort. We've found they have always been well worth the money we've spent and are the highlight of our trip.

I love to read a couple of books -- something that I don't do enough of at home. And to our surprise, we enjoy cooking in our Villa over going out to dinner. We've just found it's easier with the kids.

We love to walk over to Shelter Cove and see Shannon Tanner. Again, I don't know what his schedule is but he's been there ever summer we have. I think my DH enjoys his show more than the kids do. There is a lot of adult humor in it as well as some good old songs.

My kids love the pools and swim as much as they can. It's amazing they are not fish by the time we leave.

Maybe you want to call the resort and ask if they can give you an idea of the activities which will be offered when you are there.

We've spent an entire week there and someday plan to spend more than that. We've never been bored and feel that a week is a very short week.

Cindy-Just how many points do you have? DCL AND HH! you go girl, in your crocs and big flashy lips! No 2006 Member Cruise for us. I have my BIL wedding and I need more points! We will be going to HH in August however! I am looking forward to that. The kids love it there, but are asking for another DCL!

We also love HH. Lots to do-or nothing if you want too! :thumbsup2

Noreen, I just posted on your other thread. :teeth:

We'll be in Hilton Head the end of July. :cool1:

We do love Hilton Head in a very different way than WDW. WDW isn't as relaxing as Hilton Head is. When we first bought into DVC, we had the points and thought we'd give Hilton Head a try. We added on 100 points by the 2nd or 3rd day into our vacation, thinking we'd go back every other year. Got home, decided we wanted to go the next year again. So, we made plans, borrowed points and went. Again, before the end of our week, we added on another 82 points -- this time thinking we'd go to Hilton Head every summer and stay in a 1 bedroom. Sure enough, the next year, before we even planned our trip, we added on the other 50 points, so now we have a total of 232 points at Hilton Head that we use every summer. The week Sunday-Saturday is 231 so that leaves us with 1 point to use elsewhere. :lmao: That doesn't stretch very far --- good thing we also have points at SSR.

Maybe one of these years, we'll meet up there. Too bad they don't serve Konk Koolers on the beach like at Castaway Caye. But, I bet we'd still have a blast. I'll plan on having a pedicure before hand so if any pictures get taken, my feet will be in tip-top shape. :woohoo: :rotfl2: I still can't believe no one was able to figure out just who's feet were in that picture. :rotfl2:
