Hilton Head weather in October

Hi gang,

For all you Hilton Head visitors, have you ever been in early October? What's the weather like? Can you still swim in the ocean at that time? Is the pool still open? Are all the island activities still in full swing, like putt-putt, restaurants, renting boats, bike rentals? Thanks much!

I took my brothers and a couple of other guys down the first week in November a few years ago. Our only activity was golf, but we did walk by the pool a couple of times and it seemed pretty active with swimmers during that time. As I recall the temp for the 4 days was shorts and golf shirts for us so it must have been between 70 and 80 each day. That kind of weather would make a day at the beach pretty nice, but I'm not sure about the water temp that time of year. All of the restaurants we visited were buisy. I can't elaborate on any of the other activities.

Fall weather here in the Low Country is usually warm days and coolish nights. You might get a 50+ deg night, but, mostly 60s. The ocean nearby tends to moderate the weather.

All the common fun and activities will still be going, but, some of the more specialized events on the island will be wrapping up.
