Hilton Head Vacation Summer 2007 Question

I want to go to HHI next summer (June/July/August 2007). I will have to wait until 7 month window or do something else to insure I get summer ressie.

Any suggestions:

I could wait to 7 month window and hope there is availability?
I could rent my points and than use money to rent from HH owner?
I could trade BCV points for HH points?

You didn't post what size unit you want to reserve. My understanding is that you have better luck with a 2 bedroom. We were there in 2004 at the 7 month window in a 2 bdrm. Good luck!!!

If you want a 2 BR, you should be able to get it at the 7 month window, except maybe for 4th of July week. To be safe, you should book day-by-day.

There are only 21 studios & 21 1BRs and just 5 GV's. If you want any of these rooms, you'd probably need the help of an HHI owner. I'm sure one would gladly book a summer week in exchange for F&W

Thank you I would want a studio or 1 bedroom. Sounds like that may be difficult at 7 months. No wonder people add on HHI

Well, my suggestion would be to look at some of the other options on the Island if you can't get what you want at DVC. I actually enjoy the other options more then DVC, but if you want the kids program DVC may be a better option. (I perfer being able to walk to the beach when I go to a beach resort)

Also, you can trade DVC for Marriott resorts there, but that may be two bedroom option only.

The Barony Beach Club (Marriott) property is very nice. I haven't stayed there, but toured it a couple years ago.

I too am looking to book HHI at the 7 month window next summer. I am prepared to go with a 2 BR unit to get reservations even though we only need a 1 BR or studio.

Are my chances for getting a 2 BR during the summer months going to be diminished if I only book for 5 nights (Sunday to Thursday) ?
