At some point in time, you should try to come to HH in the summer. The ocean is a lovely 85 degrees---a big plus to someone else (me!) who hails from CA originally.
The low-country has a certain charm in and of itself. The weather is pleasant in November and you can still do outdoor acitivities like golf, miniature golf, tennis, crabbing, dolphin cruises, nature walks, horse and bike riding. Play on the beach, not in the ocean, but the
DVC pool is heated and usable.
Note that it's not the high tourist season, so things are fairly quiet. Less traffic, but also less action as well, although things do pick up closer to Thanksgiving.
A day trip to Savannah (first read "Midnight in the Garden of Good and Evil"), or Beaufort (watch "Prince of Tides") or Charleston is time well spent.
If you'd like, I can sent you the current activities and visitor's guide which might will help you make your decision--just send me a pm.
