Hilton head trip report

Just came back from a lovely 3 days at Hilton head and had a wonderful time. Thought I would update folks on something new that Chrsitopher just started. Christopher is the new naturalist and he is wonderful. We went on the bird walk and got to see the endangered wood stork as well as several other interesting birds. We were the test subjects for a new program that Christopher started called Mission to Mars. He has set it up so that you are part of a team whose mission is to get to Mars. He has the teams compete while doing some interesting experiments. I don't want to spoil the fun by telling you what he did, but my husband(38 yrs.), my son (8 yrs) and our friend (40 yrs) participated as a team and could not stop raving about how much fun it was (educational too). My son said it was his favorite part of the trip.

We also attended the low country boil (shrimp, sausage, corn and potatoes served). Although it was great and B'Lou Crabbe entertained, it was a bit pricy at $24.95 per person, $9 for children. It was, however, all you could eat.

All in all a good trip. If anyone has any questions would be glad to answer them.

We were down there in mid-August and just loved it. It was our first DVC trip as a family. We cannot wait to go back.

We too thought Christoper was great. The only thing we did with Mars was go to the beach at around 10:00 and look for meteors and he pointed out Mars. You were probably down there when Mars was the closest so he set up a program around it. But, yes, he was great.

We heard the bar-b-que but wasn't sure if it was worth the money. We will look into it next time we go.

We also love HH. Spent a few nights there this July and were totally impressed with the whole "Mickey-atmoshphere-even-though-we're-not-in-Florida" thing. I can't wait to go back... I NEED MORE POINTS!

This has been the case in our house. Our 1st, 2nd and 3rd addons were done at Hilton Head. When we initial bought at BWV, we didn't want to return to WDW to quickly so we thought we'd try HH. Added 100 points within a day of being there so we could do a trip every other year. Next trip, we decided that we wanted to be there every year in July. So, another 82 points. Then we decided that a 2 bedroom would suit our needs much better than a 1 bedroom. Surprise -- another 50 point addon would do just that (along with the anticipated sellout of the resort). Are we done?? I don't know. DH would love to spend 2 full weeks there -- but 99 points for a 2 bedroom on a Saturday night is steep. I'm not sure I could gamble on always paying cash for a Saturday night.

Anyway, glad you had a great trip. We spent lots of time with Chris and Bryan in July. Glad to hear Chris is stepping right into Bryan's shoes.
