Great pics! Makes us want to try out HH ourselves. We have never been there yet but look forward to checking it out.Thinking about driving down also......so probably a few more hours in the car for us from Vt.Enjoy the rest of your trip!!

So, we woke up, had breakfast in the room, and used the truck to drive to AK. Wow. I like Disney busses, BUT, knowing when you will get there, and the ease of coming back, well, the truck was the way! Did the safari, it was awesome. We did Everest, and well, that did Jake in...Kind of freaked him out, so we ate a Flame Tree and ended up coming back to SSR and swimming and relaxing...Heading to the MK in a bit for dinner at Tonys, and wishes!

From MK again..SO, we got into Tony's with a last minute call....Food was AWESOME!!! The tomato/mozarella dish for appetizer was incredible!! Spaghetti and Sausage all around!! Great!! Ambience and food...Took our first train ride around MK, very cool...Rode Space Mountain (Jakes favorite) and saw Tiki Birds. Then was saw Spectromagic and Wishes....The best part was watching Jake watch this and seeing his eyes light up! A great, but long tiring night. We are altering plans tommorow, and probably doing a water park. More to follow....

Subscribing. Love your trip report so far! Really love the HHI pics. Hope you can post more of them, maybe when you get home. My parents live in Atlanta and I'm thinking about renting points someday to stay at HHI with them in a 2bed suite. The resort looks VERY nice and seems to be a great place to get some quality family time. I was kinda playing with the idea in my head for a vacation at some point, since it would be a shorter drive than Florida (we live in Canada) and your pics made me take the idea more seriously....

Can you tell us more about the "murky" beach? What exactly did they tell you? That may be a down-side for us because although we're not dedicated beach people we'd like a day at the beach. Also, how was the pool temperature? Was it warm??

We are also staying at SSR (probably renting points but haven't sorted it out yet) next May for a few nights before our Disney cruise and we've never been there either, so I"m loving your trip report! :)

This is all adding up to a great case for buying into DVC.

I really dont have too many more pics on HHI, that are different than we have....I would say, it would NOT be a waste for quality family time there, its great!! Pool water was nice and warm, with a water slide....As for the beach, they said the sand is clean and packed really awesome, just that the water was murky cause the rivers and ocean all meet there? They also said bikes are very popular on the resort and island...We are looking forward to staying there again next week....

As for SSR, some say its too big or too far, but, we love it..Esp having our car here, everything is close by driving....

Ok, so we slept in, and then decided water park day!! We went to Blizzard Beach! Did I mention having your own car is great??? No busses or waiting? Anyways, it was $125 for 3 of us, a little steep, esp since its $2 a towel rental!! We did not like that....for $125 it should be comp towels...Anyways, the park was not too busy, and we had a good time! No pics, really, bought a throw away waterproof camera and have to have them developed!! We did take the chairlift to the top, and did NOT do summit plunge, way too chicken, but, we did do the slide just to the side of it, and MAN, what a fast drop!! Now its rest at SSR, and probably a visit to DD tonight, via the boats!!

Hilton Head, then SSR? Are you following us around? :)

Quit looking at my video feed and get out on your balcony!

When were you at Hilton Head? We were there last Saturday...And we were on the balcony....Where are you in Congress? When are you leaving?

I dont think our balcony is as nice as yours...I can see my truck and the congress park stop :)

SO, after a nice rest, jacuzzi tub, and some aloe for the sunburn, we headed over to Turf Club. Again, no res, got right in. Had prime rib, jess just wanted salad, and the chef came out, because of her allergy, and made one specially for her...The staff, Chelsey and Ron the chef were outstanding!! We then boated down to Downtown Disney, for some more shopping. Got a pack of the new vinylmation star wars pins, and Jake built his own light saber...A candy apple from Goofys finished the night...mmm...Here are a few nightime pics I was playing around with...Tommorow its the studios:

OH PS: I am pumped...Awhile back, I was able to participate in beta testing for the new Disney 20 Question electric game! WELL, Once upon a toy HAS THEM!!! I was like a kid in a candy shop!! So, its off to try that!

We're in 1300 zone facing DTD.

We live in Savannah, GA, so, we're at HHI basically. (We do ride over there alot and stay occationally)

Here til the 21st.

Got to love that DVC!

So today we got up early and headed over to Artist Pallette for a breakfast..I love the big breakfasts. They are awesome! THEN, on our way out, we stopped at the DVC Kiosk, and they had the Celebrating, Member Since buttons! We all got one..They are pretty cool...Then, off to Hollywood Studios. I know I have said this before, but, having your own car is GREAT!! We got in and headed to TSM. It was about a 20 minute wait...It was a blast. Then we just walked around, checking everything out. I love the studios. We did Star Tours, and Great Movie Ride. Jakes 1st trip, he wasnt quit ready for TOT. So, we made an early day of it, now off to T-Rex for a late lunch, then some swimming!

We have been to HHI many times, including the last 4 summers and have never had any "murky" water issues, EVER! the beach is huge, beautiful and you can ride bikes on the miles of wide beach. The only issue we have ever had is jelly fish one summer, but they did warn us and so if we wanted to swim we did so in the beach house pool when we were at the beach. As you can tell, we are huge HHI fans and added on twice there just to get 11 month summer window. We are heading back there June 6 for 4 nights.

We never went to the beach, just went by what the CM told us....

The deal with murky waters is the Savannah River. Quite a lot of mud comes down and the water within about 10 miles eather side of the river causes it.

Before they built the Clarke's Hill (now Thurmond) dam, the river ran Red as did the water around the beaches.

I have noted that the water is much clearer now than it was when I was a kid.

Jellies get worse as the summer progresses.

Fabulous Pics!! Thanks for the TR! Love the HHI pics. Want to get there one of these days. Keep them coming please.

Love your TR! Can't wait to read more! Looking at your pics makes me think of home! Still have 5 months to go!
