We are heading to HH for first time in early Nov. I recall seeing somewhere that work is underway on various sections of the beach near the DVC HH beach house/pool.

Would appreciate any info on what is going on, current status, when it is supposed to end etc.

I've been checking this every now and then. http://www.hiltonheadislandsc.gov/projects/beachrenourish/2016beachrenourish/updates.cfm. If you zoom in and compare the location to a googlemaps image of Disney's Hilton Head Beach House you can kind of see where they are in relation to it.

Also, this message is now showing on the Disney Hilton Head site https://hiltonhead.disney.go.com/ This Resort is undergoing refurbishments. See Details

Please Pardon the Inconvenience
Beginning in early September and continuing through November 15, 2016, Beaufort County will be initiating a beach re-nourishment project that will affect the beach adjacent to Disney's Beach House at Disney’s Hilton Head Island Resort.
During that time, additional walking may be required to reach available portions of the beach. In addition, you may also hear construction noise and see county employees at work. We sincerely apologize for any inconvenience this may cause.

I hope this helps!

We will be there in October. I have a really bad feeling it's going to be camped right in front of the beach house for our trip which means it will be down the beach for yours :)

We will be there beginning October 2. I'm not super happy that the refurbishment got moved back. Originally, it was supposed to be finished by summer. But I am happy that this didn't happen last year! My DH and I renewed our wedding vows on our 25th anniversary right in front of the beach house.

We were there last week and I saw no signs of refurbishment being done anywhere on the beach. We are going back Oct. 30th, but I'm not that concerned as I figure it will be too cold to spend much time on the beach. We'll just go to the pool, which is heated.

I think they had stopped work due to the tropical storms and were supposed to resume today.
