Hilton Head Refurb

That's what they told us when I asked the other day. And the front desk confirmed it.
It's possible. Given that the resort is now years behind in their refurbishment schedule, the company could have decided to push forward starting in the summer, especially if whichever contractor they use has an open calendar date. The truth is, no one knows (who is telling, at least) what the schedule will be. While it doesn't make sense to start during high season for the resort--the busiest time of year and occupancy rates are at 100%--other factors may prevail. Still, next fall makes more sense, yet I have no better knowledge than the front desk CMs; however, keep in mind that pretty much every CM at the resort below the GEM level is essentially is in the same category as the famed "bus driver" when it comes to insider information. CMs are kept in the dark about major news until Disney deems it necessary to parse it out. That's not to say CMs don't sometimes get it right, but they often get as many conflicting stories as Disney guests do.

I wonder if dhhir will use the same contractors as vwl/brv?

Looking at the DVC site, June is pretty much booked for all rooms. July is pretty open except for GVs. If they do decide to start in the summer and the rooms are already booked, what will they do? It's not like at WDW where they can move guests to another resort.

Unfortunately, I agree. Especially at HHI, where they're not at the same physical location as the decision makers.

And yet, sometimes Orlando makes the decision, then HHI has to "figure it out", fix it. I remember one time I had a regular occurring problem with wake up calls (back before my "Just Keep Swimming" iPhone) At the time, wake up calls originated in Orlando. But on the last day, the front desk at HHI gave me a big box of cookies for my (small) problem.

Annual meeting confirmed it is happening in 2023, but I don’t think anything beyond that.

Summer 2023 I believe
This has me a little worried. DH and I are booked in a studio for the last week of August. Right now there are studios available, so I hope if they truly think they are refurbishing during the summer, they will go ahead and pull those out of inventory. Once everything gets booked, I don't understand what they will do. They can't move people to other resorts like they do at WDW.

Any news on the refurbishment? We plan to go in Summer 2024
There has been a fair amount of chatter about it on this link: https://www.disboards.com/threads/hilton-head-refurbishment.3919995/

In short, the CMs started telling people the refurb would begin this year in July (some even said June). So far, the only thing that has seen any work is the front desk area in Live Oak Lodge, and even that work has been limited to the CM offices behind the actual check in area. No work has been reported anywhere else on the resort. Now, going on 18+ months ago, they did refurb two rooms in Bldg 30: 3012 and 3014--the 1BR and studio, respectively. Those rooms were done as the guide rooms. Once they redid them, the designers and others tinkered with them a little in terms of soft goods and the like. Those two rooms are complete but not yet back in the inventory. So, when will the actual resort-wide refurbishment start? Unknown. My bet has always been after peak season which unofficially starts after Labor Day. pirate:

I see HH is due for a refurb this year. Has it started yet?
I was at HH between June 28 - July 14. Front Desk told me that the refurbishment was starting July 1st, but did not know how long it would take to be completed. Seemed strange to me that Disney would be starting the refurbishment at the height of the summer season, when I'm sure the resort is completely sold out, so I don't know if she was just staying that or it really did start. I didn't see any work people at all during the time I was there, but this is what I was told.
