Hilton Head Questions

I'm thinking of going to Hilton Head in May. Never been there before. Taking my Mother on a trip to get over the winter blues.

What type of activities do they have there? How are the units? We'll have either a studio or 1 BR (I hope).

If I remember from previous posts, you have to take a shuttle to get to the beach house??

Any info you can provide about HHI will be appreciated.
