Hilton Head Planning

I need advice for Hilton Head...
Traveling from CA to possily either Orlando or direct to Savannah, GA.
Anyone traveled from CA?? Recommendations?
I was thinking of flying into Orlando, FL and then staying 1 night in Vero Beach; but then it's a 5 hour drive back to Orlando on the fly home day.... plus the 9 - 10 hour flight; or do 4 nights in HH and 2 nights (before/after) in Orlando area..... Thanks for any insight you can provide!!!!

Fly in and out of Savannah. Vero Beach actually is closer to a 7 hour drive away. Orlando and HHI are about 5 hours apart. I get that you're comming a long way, but its not enough time in Orlando, so I'd just come to HHI and relax.
