Hilton Head over Thanksgiving?

I'm thinking about trying to book Thanksgiving weekend at HH. Does anyone know if it will be warm enough to swim in their pool? Is this a good time of year to visit? Thanks!

It's a busy time at the Disney resort.

The weather can go anywhere.

I've been there at least 10 times for Thanksgiving and I book it every year. I have had to cancel a few times, but I always book because it's a favorite.

One year we had 80ties for the first 3-4 nights of Thanksgiving week. Then the temp dropped to the 40ties for the last part of the week.

Other times it stayed nice, rained, got cold - whatever!

So, we 'll have to wait and see for this year.

I just tried to book today and there is VERY little available. Last year, no problem....this year I can only book until Thanksgiving day, waitlist and hope and pray that more becomes available.

Gee, how have we missed each other there? We've been regulars at HHI for the past 5 years, already booked for our 6th. Our first year was COLD-literally freezing on Thanksgiving day.

After I took this picture, my camera batteries froze and wouldn't work again until they'd been inside and warmed up awhile.

2010 was a little goodvibes) different. First time I've ever felt warm enough to use the hot tub-

I'd be surprised if there's any availability left. I'm at HHI now, so I could check (if the front desk even knows), but traditionally it's booked solid thru the weekend afterwards. One year, our reservations got messed up and we were left with no room for 3 nights. And they were booked solid, no room at the inn. I think it was when we threatened to drag a mattress outside under the trees to sleep that they found us a room, but it was a different room every night. Quite an experience!

My first visit was in 1997!

I've stayed at least once a year every year since then.

Thanksgiving is one of my favorite times there as is staying over 4th of July.

I book TG every year - this year included but sometimes life interferes with plans made 11 months in advance. I am doing my best to get there this year!

Earlier this week I gave up a one bedroom and booked a studio. The one bedroom checkout was Saturday morning. Maybe it's gone now. There are only going to be two of us and I'm not going to cook this year!

Just to update about availability, I called yesterday and there were no 1 bedroom or 2 bedrooms for the 23rd or 24th, and no GV from the 22nd through the 27th. I wait listed, but am not too confident I will get it! I think we will probably use our points at another time!
