Happy Thanksgiving everyone!

I have a question but let me explain my situation first.

My son left for Marine Corps Recruit Training in Parris Island South Carolina on September 8th. He completed the Crucible just yesterday and is scheduled to graduate on December 5th. We have about 8 family members traveling to Parris Island for his Graduation and are scheduled to arrive in South Carolina on Tuesday, December 2nd. We all currently have hotel reservations in the Beaufort SC area (all reservations can be cancelled without penalty).

I was looking and it would appear that Hilton Head is not too far from Parris Island and I thought it might be nice to get the entire family into a Grand Villa. This would allow everyone to be able to attend graduation without having to pay for a hotel room.

So, my questions....
1) Any chance of me getting a Grand Villa at Hilton Head this close to my date of December 2nd? I'm hoping that because it is off season and that Thanksgiving will be over I might be in luck.
2) What is Hilton Head like this time of year?
3) Anything to do in the area?

I know...just give them a call in the morning and find out but I was wondering what everyone here thought.

Thanks in advance for your help!

Congratulations to your son. HHI should be great this time of year. Temps will be in the upper 50's and low 60's. It is not a hard drive at all from HHI to Parris Island.

BTW,we just left HHI this morning, and although I don't know your chances of getting a grand villa, I do know it's very convenient to Parris Island. As we were loading up to leave, we met a couple who'd come for their nearly-son's graduation at Parris Island (a boy they'd known so well-almost like a son). As far as the weather, whenever we go it's unseasonably cold (DH was told when he went golfing and had a frost delay "This is the first frost delay we've ever had this early in the season). So I guess you'll have reasonably nice weather since we're gone. We seem to bringthe cold with us. But there were still some hardy folks swimming in the pool. If you go, be sure you get a wake-up call-it's so cute!
