Hi- We are thinking of going to the HH DVC resort next June with a couple who will have an 18 month old. At that time our kids will be 2 1/2 and 4. Is there enough toddler friendly activities around?
Anyone who has been there with our without kids- what are your thoughts? All opinions are valuable to me!
Thanks

My family (DH, DD (3 yrs.), DS (9mos.) and I) were at HHI just a couple of weeks ago. There are plenty of activities for kids - but I was a little disappointed that the activity for 3-6 year olds was only being held on Saturday (the day we were leaving.) The activity involved teaching the kids about butterflies and I think the kids paint butterfly houses. It was a full half day program and there was a notation on the program that lunch was optional. However, the week we were there, there were tons of activites that the whole family could do together - there were campfires, story time, dolphin cruises, marsh walks, and of course, the spectacular beach and beautiful pool. We rented bikes one day, too. There was also a schedule opportunity to meet Shadow, the resident pooch, as well as a magic show. The whole family went to Goofy Bingo one night - DD got antsy and I left with her and the kids, but DH was having so much fun, he stayed for a whole hour more! The CMs are probably some of the best I've ever encountered - they know the kids by name and are very warm and friendly. They were pretty creative, too. For example, when a heavy rain flooded the campfire pit, one fo the CMs got out some kiddie size wading boots, threw in some rubber duckies and sent the little ones in after them. This kept DD busy for almost an hour. I thought HHI was just great and we spent most of our time just playing around the pool - something we never do enough of at WDW.

HH tends to schedule activities more frequently during the "high" season (June/July/August). The same activities are usually available year 'round, just not as frequently at other times of the year.

So that activity that was only availably on Saturday a few weeks ago, may be offered a few times during the week in June.

If you're looking for something like the kids' clubs on a cruise -- to pretty much keep the kids occupied all day -- you won't find it at HH. But you will find a lot of things that will keep them happy and give you an hour or two break at a time.
