Hilton Head in May 2004

Does anyone have any idea how hard it would be to book a 2 BR at Hilton Head at the 7 month mark? We are thinking of May 2004.

We are currently in the process of buying a BWV resale. Providing that it goes through, I was going to try and check out Hilton Head next May. It is part of the way I convinced my DH to buy in. It showed him we do not have to go to Disney on EVERY vacation... Your thoughts are appreciated.

I was similarly concerned about scoring a 2-bedroom at HH this June. I called first thing that morning and had no problem. It turned out that the 7-month window opened while they were closed for Thanksgiving holiday, so when I called I booked all three nights at once. You should probably plan on calling day-by-day and you'll be OK. Folks here told me studios are harder to get.

We are really looking forward to our visit, where we will share a room with dear friends who now live in South Carolina. I know they will be thrilled with the beautiful room, and my daughter is counting the days until her "dolphin cruise!"

There are more 2 bdrms than anything else, so I would say pretty good. May is still before the peak time unless you were thinking of Memorial Day weekend. It is one of our home resorts and we absolutely love it there.

I would think that a 2 BR wouldn't be too bad, as long as you call as soon as you can at the 7 month mark. We got a studio at the 7 month mark for spring break. However, we called right away, when we could. And even when we called at less than 2 months to switch over to a 1 BR, we went on the wait list, which I expected, but surprisingly 3 of the 4 nites came through.

Your responses were very speedy! Thank you! I am hoping to show the benefits of DVC to my hubby, so if our resale goes through (I sent a check yesterday!), we should close in 6-8 weeks, and then have a nice point allocation (banked points!) by late this summer. I will then figure out the 7 month window and try to book day by day to make sure.

I am so happy this just may work out. I have been trying to justify DVC to my DH for a year now, and I think this was it!
