Anyone ever gone at this time? We are thinking of switching our summer vacation to the week of March 8-14th. We are concerned about the weather etc. Do they still run all of the events for the kids?

Any guidance would be great,

Kim

We stayed there last Jan and are going back this Jan. They had activities going on and the weather was perfect. Some people were even swimming.

We've been several times in March. All the activities were up and running, just sometimes there were only a couple other people doing them. Weather has been very variable-some days real nice, other days very cold and windy. What we like is that the resturants are pretty easy to get in to. Hilton Head doesn't seem to be a big "spring break" location-one reason why we like it so much.

So glad to hear those responses, because I was wondering the same thing. We are booked for Mar 2-8 and it is our first trip. It's good to know that there will be plenty for us to do!

If you have been in the summer, and the kids have crab fished, in March they won't be able to do that as the crabs aren't around just yet with the water being cooler. When we went this year, that was a big disappointment for my children, as well as the shark fishing not being up and running yet.

The one thing that we needed in March and never in the summer, was bug spray. The no-see-ums or sand fleas were terrible. I wish we had prepared for them earlier as by the time we realized we were getting bites and applied bug spray, we were already covered with a lot of sores.

We went the last week of March 2004. The first two days were torrential rain and the rest of the week was 70 degrees and sunny. We swam in both pools and hit the beach. Also did alot of biking around the resort.

I am considering spring break for us, which is the week of Easter, do they crowds increast this time of year?
Dates are March 16-21
thanks

We took a all girls trip for a long weekend in March 2006. We were there around St. Patty's Day. It seems as though it was fairly cool while we were there, but when I look back at pictures, we were wearing cotton sweaters, light jackets - so it probably was in the 60's or so. There were the usual host of activities (similar to what we were used to in October). I, too, remember the bugs being worse while we were there than any other time I'd ever been. We went to the Salty Dog to sit on the deck and enjoy watching the water and have a drink or two and the bugs were crazy! They were even landing in our drinks :sad2: We went to the outlet mall one day and the bugs literally drove us out and back to the comfort of our room. That may have been a "strange" year, but they sure were a problem then. The island was not crowded at all when we were there!
