Hilton Head in August

Hi, Has anyone gone to Disney's Hilton Head Resort in August? Was the heat/humdiity/rain a deal breaker? We were thinking of bringing our grandchildren, and this is the only month they can go - we usually go in June and the weather is perfect then!

We have gone to HHI in August the last 3 years, not gonna lie it is HOT & HUMID. We really didnt hit much rain, but when it did rain it poured.

Rain is on par with Orlando or slightly less.

Expect those quick afternoon showers and then sun again by 5p.

We are afraid to the heat, humidity or rain - I was wondering if the combination made for a lousy vacation - I guess you just answered that since you have gone in August 3 years in a row. Thanks!

We went in mid-August 2010...it absolutely POURED for our first 2 days...but the could've happened in July too. THEN it was boiling hot...which being from Maryland we expected...very similar to home...BUT the water temps were also very warm and there were TONS (literally) of jellyfish. We had 1 OK day (the first day after the rains stopped) then the rest of the week nobody could go into the ocean without getting stung. Some of the stings we got were minor BUT my DH got one wrapped around his leg and it got him pretty good...he still has a ring around his leg where it got him!!! We ended up spending most of our time up at the pool 'cuz it was so hot. Pool space was at a premium.
