Hi all! We are going to HH in 12 days!! We have been to HH so many times and love it. This is the second time that we are taking our DDs and the first time for them to see Harbortown. DH has a golf tee time at Harbortown. I'm looking for ideas (other than shopping - I'm familiar with that!) to do in Harbortown with my two DDs (ages 11 & 8) while DH is playing golf. Do you recommend any luncheon cruises? We'll have the car but I thought it would be fun to hang out for the day in Harbortown or take any cruises or anything else that you all may recommend. Thank you!

Do they like nature? There's the Sea Pines FOrest Preserve that we love (but then, we love nature). Also, there's the lighthouse right there in Harbourtown to climb up. And there's a great little store to buy ice cream. Last time we were there, there was also a neat little Christmas shop, but I don't know if it's still there. I hope your DH likes golfing Harbourtown. My DH golfed there once. It's very expensive, but DH insisted "Every golfer needs to experience it". He enjoyed it, but fortunately has since gone to less expensive golf courses.

There is a very nice playground there (my DD esp loves to climb the trees)
get ice cream and sit in the nice rockers
Climb the lighthouse and look around (fee)
Look for shells on the beach near the pier
Take bikes and explore the area (you might be able to rent there)
eat lunch at the Crazy Crab or other restaurant

Sounds like youre dh will be tied up for 3-4 hours. There's lots you could do in that time frame. Not as many boats go out this time of year, and while there are dinner cruises there aren't any lunch cruises.

Some things to do:

playground

horse back riding at Lawton Stables

climb the lighthouse

bring crab nets and go crabbing off the pier

bike ride (you can rent bikes in HT and ride around---the SP bike trails are wonderful!)

drive to South Beach Marina and buy Salty Dog t-shrits

boat ride (depending on schedule): the smaller boats are the most fun, check out Enviro-Tours and see if they have anything going out
