We are going to be camping at an RV resort close to HH. We have never been there and thought we would go visit and see what it looks like. We would possibly like to get a bite to eat; from what I can gather are there only counter service places and no actual sit-down dining i.e. table service? I noticed something about special dining like a low-country boil, but on the DVC site nothing was elaborated on any of it. Thanks for your input!

Only counter service there and the special events such as the low country boil, I am pretty sure you would have to be staying there as a guest. The special events are also seasonal.

It is not a large resort and there are so many fabulous places to eat on the island that they did not build a full service restaurant.

Signals at the Beach House is only open for lunch and seasonally. Here is info about Tide Me Over which is located on the main property. https://hiltonhead.disney.go.com/dining/tide-me-over/

If you like seafood, I would recommend Skull Creek Boathouse. It's on the northern end of the island and has a great view at sunset. Food is amazing too!

We just went there last month and loved it (already planned our visit next year!). There are so many awesome places to eat around HHIR! The counter service places that are actually on Disney property are pretty good, but just standard fare (burgers, etc.). I second the recommendation for Skull Creek Boathouse. It's delicious and has a great view! There are really a ton of good restaurants around the island within a 15 minute drive of the resort.

Our two favorites from this summer were Low Country Backyard and Java Burrito. Love Hilton Head!

I've never head a bad meal at Truffles over at Sea Pines Resort. About 7 miles from Disney.

Skull Creek Boathouse is excellent. It's owned by a restaurant group which owns about 6 restaurants on the island which, from my experience, and what I hear, are all excellent. I can't remember all of them, but they also have Black Marlin Grill (DH's favorite), Frankie Bones, Poseidon, and I think it's called Marley's(?). Also, you may see the same servers sometimes. Our server at Black Marlin last time is a weekend bartender at Poseidon. DS's restaurant does the same-the advantage is that if a server calls in sick, there may be a "fill-in" available from one of the other restaurants, so that for the patrons, they're not left feeling "short-handed".

Thanks everyone! We have never been to HHI, so this is a whole new experience for us. Truly appreciate all the dining recommendations!!!

I'll jump on the Skullcreek bandwagon. We go every summer. Just go early! In the summer it can be up to a 2 hour wait. They have all kinds of activities to do while you are waiting and the view is amazing. We are also huge Wise Guys fans. Salty Dog is almost a must for a first time touristy visit.

There's a place called Frankie Bones which is maybe 7 minutes from DVC HHI. This place was excellent and also gave a 10% discount for DVC member staying there..

"SERG" - I agree that they tend to have great quality. Frankie Bones is a great choice (and I love the lobster mac and cheese).

The Santa Fe Café is also really close to the DVC resort with terrific food.

Love Hilton Head and already counting the days until our return! Here are some recommendations:

Skull Creek Boathouse
Black Marlin
Palmetto Bay Sunrise Cafe
Giuseppi's Pizza
Frosty Frog's
Low Country Backyard
Java Burrito
Salty Dog
Stu's Surf Side

Loved Skull Creek Boathouse...We also really enjoyed One Hot Mama's.

I'm pretty sure that you need to be a guest of Disney's to participate in the low boil they do.
