Hi all,

We originally had a Universal trip in the works from 12/27-1/1. Due to the insane airfare costs we decided to bag it. Hilton Head is a more reasonable option..any idea what there is to do that time of year?

Boy, I'd love to know about that also. My parents have visited every year for the last 19 years for the entire season. They can't make it this year, due to illness/surgery and HHI sounds like a wonderful alternative.

Hi,
We spent nye there about 9 years ago - the weather can be very chilly that time of year. The resort had a bonfire singalong around midnight and that was about it. Maybe it's changed - but the island is pretty quiet that time of year as well. We stayed in a grand villa and had a great time (and made use of the fireplace) but be prepared for cool temperatures and a low key new years.

we were at HH for NYE in 2010. We arrived the day after Christmas and it was snowing - yes, I said snowing. Big flakes that were pretty but didn't stick to anything for very long. a couple of mornings DH and Cousin-in-law had to wait for golf greens to 'thaw' before they could play.
For NYE, there was a party around the pool complete with a ball drop! Kind of corny, but fun. There were party favors for everyone and music. It was a fun time. And I think it may have started at 11:00 but that could be incorrect.

This year we are going in May :rotfl::rotfl:
