Heading to HH for the first time. It seems there are no sit down restaurants and limited hour quick serve. What are my options onsite or nearby for breakfast, lunch and dinner? Are traditional Disney foods available such as Mickey waffles and Mickey bars? Thanks.

Also where is the nearest grocery and how late will it be open tomorrow night?

We are here now.We always eat breakfast in, although Hilton Head Diner and Stacks are just down the street. By far the best grocery store and you do not have to worry about hours is kroger see below. It is just before you get to the resort on your rigth. Also it had gas so you can use your kroger card to get gas discount:

There are far too many food choices to mention however ask Mike at the pool in the am. We have done Steamers at Coligny, Sea Shack, One Hot Mamas, Guiseppes,Captain Woody's and just ate at early bird at Alexanders (21st anniversary).

Alexanders is very nice for a good meal (more fine dining than the others) especially the early bird, however they also do app's and full menu at that time (opens at 5pm). Alexanders was the nicest of them all, but also the most expensive (about 100 for 5 off of the early bird).

Steamers is great also, but more of a applebee's but seafood
Captain woody's is good, but if you have small kids I would not choose it. Most dining is outside, great happy hour 4-7pm in bar area.
One Hot Mama's is award winning ribs and wings plus other, very good.
Guiseppes very good italian food and thats not just the pizza, highly recommended.
Sea Shack is exactly that. Awesome food, blunt but friendly staff, small dining areas and character. Definitley not fine dining, just awesome seafood.

Also when you check in they will give you a food brochure as well as several restaruants that give Disney discounts.

Walk across the bridge to Scott's Fish Market for great seafood. Mickey waffles are available at Tide Me Over, the on site QS restaurant.

Asking where to eat at HHI is about like asking what's there to do in NYC? The possibilities are nearly infinite! But a few of my faves include Stacks for breakfast (very close to resort), Guiseppes for Pizza and pasta (also close), Sea Shack for Seafood (driving distance and kinda hard to find), San Miguels for mexican (VERY VERY CLOSE), and Neptunes is brand new and we liked it very much. Kroger is just a bike ride away.

If you go to Palmetto Bay Sunrise Cafe, as was recommended above, I recommend asking for the counter seating if you want a great show. It amazes me how the people working there can run around, appearing to be haphazard, but everyone knows exactly what they're doing, no one bumps into each other, and nothing gets misplaced. However, if you want to carry on a conversation with dining companions, a table's for you! Black Marlin and Skull Creek Boathouse are a couple great places for seafood. British Open Pub is great for a more mixed (less concentrated on seafood) menu-then, walk over to Pino Gelato for dessert. Maybe they'll have their nutella gelato!

We always go to Skullcreek. It's our favorite. There's Salty Dog if you want to do something "touristy".

Just be aware that with Salty Dog is that it costs $6 just to get into Sea Pines plantation. We really like Salty Dog, but it just means that we combine our trip with DH's golf day in Sea Pines, or a trip to the Sea Pines Forest Preserve.

I got out voted today. I wanted Skull Creek on the way out of town, but the kids wanted breakfast so Stacks won out. In my opinion none of us lost on that decision, it was so awesome.

We are back home now. Have fun.

If you want great seafood, we go to Hudsons on the Docks, Skullcreek Boathouse or Old Oyster Factory. There is also an Express Delivery service that will deliver to your room food from many good restaurants if you don't want to drive .
