We have spent xmas week there twice and make a one night stop over on the way home from WDW when we drive back from xmas week there(last 5 years). Lots of kid and adult stuff to do(activities at the resort), don't count on swimming as it can be cold(40's one year..60 another), lot's of golf, shopping walking the beach. we did day trips to Beaufort and trip to Pinckey island, although the resort, the beach and just relaxing is really a joy at HHI.

In addition, visiting Sea Pines Forest Preserve can be nice. And don't miss this Guy in his Christmas finery (the statue, not DH)-

Have wondered this same thing - plus how hard would it be to book a studio at Christmas if not booking until the 7 month mark or later?

I do not think there would be a problem at 7 months for xmas. We have booked time xmas week less than the 7 months. This year we are staying NYE and New Year's day after 4 night at OKW.
