It seems that TS/hurricane Alex is threatening the coasts of the Carolinas.

I am king of panicking since we are supposed to be in HHI next thursday.

Anybody has any idea how much this tropical storm can/will affect the Island?

Thanks a lot.

HHI is usually pretty lucky when it comes to 'canes. It will rain, the beach may swell, but they don't get it as bad as NC gets it.

you should be fine.

How about the sun, though? Will the days be alright for the beach?

We check in Thursday too!

I've started making some "rain plans". My DD is thrilled, it means she'll see princess diary 2 there!

Hoping for sun!

Sandy

"Alex" is on the coast of North Carolina right now. That is a pretty far distance from HHI. unless another storm comes behind it, you will not see any problems at HHI. They have great pools at the resorts to swim in, if the waves look large. the beach should wash any debree that might float up by your trip. The beach is very wide, but if it was a bad storm washing up to the dunes, it would be closed. This will not be a factor from "Alex". as it will be out to sea towards the northeast. That is the path they tend to take when hitting NC coast.

Some of the best times at the beach is right after a big storm.:sunny:

I think HH will be fine, maybe a little stronger surf *maybe*, but maybe not. We are heading to Myrtle Beach on Thursday, MB is very close to NC, we are not worried. I think right now, it's getting close to our coast (NC). We are about mid-state & have a lot of clouds today. I think you'll be okay in HH.

I haven't checked the weather this morning, but from what I read last night Alex is up the coast from HH (NC coast....not SC) and is moving north northeast (out to sea)...so there is no concern for the HH area. By next Thursday, this storm will be forgotten.
