Earliest Flight time from FLL getting off Ship at Port Everglades (Fort Lauderdale)

Do you check bags? Because we saw other families being turned away at bag check because they had arrived too early. Not sure if that's a Southwest thing or if other airlines do it as well, but with SW you'd be stuck with whatever is available outside the security perimeter dragging around your bags until 12:50pm.

I know some airports have better pre-security amenities than others, so maybe that's not a big deal at FLL?
It's not just a SW thing, a lot of airlines do it at a lot of airports.

I guess everyone just takes an Uber from ship to FLL? Is there a mad rush for Uber drivers at any particular time?
There is a bit of a mad rush because lots of people are getting off the ship at about the same time. But, a lot of rideshare drivers also know what days ships come in so they will mostly meet demand. We waited about 15 minutes for a Lyft at Port Everglades last September, but I think part of that was just because traffic was backed up trying to get into the port pickup area.

Just be aware that there is a one in a million chance you will not be able to get off the ship in time. This happened to us once. I have no idea why but the ship did not clear until about 11. CMs were helping people trying to reschedule flights and it was very chaotic. We were going to wdw so it didn’t affect us. I would still not hesitate to book the earlier flight. Just be aware that this could happen.

I'd do it rather than sitting in the airport all day. We have easily made 10:02am flights twice when sailing out of Miami and that's a farther ride to the airport. We weren't travelling with children and we both have TSA Precheck. We walked off at 7:30 am and still had time to sit at the gate. I don't know if I would attempt it with young children and/or no Precheck.

The best part was that we were still full from breakfast at take off and we landed in Philly a little after 12:00 pm. That gives me plenty of time to unpack and put luggage away.

What is the worst case scenario? You're somehow delayed and when you realize you're going to miss your flight, you have to call to be moved to a later flight. You might be charged a fee. You might lose the "good" seats you originally chose? Meh. That's a chance I'm willing to take.
